BOD isn't going to score in this, maybe we should have gone for MOTM.

Im surprised none of us thought about the motm market, it never crossed my mind until late in the first half.

Forest's injury problems are persisting and their squad is really thin now, looking at their recent results one might be forgiven for suggesting that they are doing a fair impression of a flounder.

The 3.75 Barnsley at home today on betty looks more than okay to me.

You'll get the drink of your choice off me next time at DtD if this one holds :-)

Weird one at Selhurst.

Up until the first goal Southampton looked the more threatening, but really solid at the back by Palace, same with Southampton really. Both sides' defenses truly on top and then a moment of madness from a Palace corner where Southampton clear their lines and Puncheon hurries back to deal with a bouncing ball around the halfway line, tries to header it square to Moxey, but with Rodriguez in between them it didn't make much sense, he tries it, it is short of Moxey.

Moxey makes the mistake of thinking he can get to the ball before Rodriguez rather than running directly towards goal accepting Rodriguez will have possession but to try and nullify the threat, he fails to get to the ball before Rodriguez, the latter goes clean through, takes one big touch that had too much on it that Speroni who was now planted on the edge of his area was not sure what to do, he charges out to take the ball from the striker, perhaps a little too late in coming, he gets there anyway but is nowhere near convincing enough in the slide tackle, the ball bobbles free but near Rodriguez with both of them on the ground, no-one around Rodriguez now, and while on his arse actually shuffles backwards on it, to line up a deft finish from a low centre of gravity, probably about a foot from the ground. Leaving the Palace backline wondering just who was more at fault from the three of them.

Aside from that goal, Lambert hit the post, and then that was it really for a contest. The second half showed Southampton sitting back with a cigar and showing their defensive prowess.

It can be said this was destined for a 0-0 had it not been for the mistakes for the Southampton goal and that isn't a terrible assessment. However, Southampton may have notched a few gears upwards to nick a lead if they hadn't already. Palace were so out of this in an attacking way it was frightening. Had to probably alter the long ball into the box/crosses because of the Southampton big men in there but we didn't really.

Bolasie continues to be a threat, but Puncheon less so. Would prefer Thomas in for Puncheon. Still don't know what to make of Ledley, but hasn't impressed me. Ince came on and made no difference.

Of the Palace defence I thought they played well aside from the goal, so no complaints there.

A real last one on the Match of the Day playlist order sort of game.

My thoughts on Palace relegation? Tough question, but I am happy I have asked myself. I think it will be tight, but with how Palace have been successful in the past of leveling games by being so deep and so well drilled defensively they may be in every game they play until they concede. But we are tough to break down and can go quite a while with a clean sheet, but in that time our defence holds out, our attack needs to nick a goal from somewhere. As soon as we go one nil down the game is nearly over as a contest, yes there was an equaliser last week against Swansea, but that was extremely fortunate. If Palace do ever take a lead, under Pulis it can be terribly tough to break them down again, which is where Palace's strength can come into it.

Think Palace, WBA, Fulham and Cardiff are the main candidates for the drop.

Unfortunately, with this result, I am not sure Palace will have enough for even contesting the top 10 and for the Fred bet to come in, but still four points in it so you never know.

Sandro yet to be booked, but he has done everything but so far. The second bookingmost referee has been atypically restrained.

Turgid game. Eighteen defenders on the pitch doesn't help. Defensive error will be the decisive factor in this game. Hopefully, it lets Paulinho in.

After he comes off the bench, that is.

Are your summer signings having much effect on the game?

Lol. Your first signing this decade scores one goal and you're on the chirp!

This has been disappointingly predictable. Never a pen mind.
