Alex,
Great Freelance career with travel paying £250 a day plus tips  http://www.britainsbestguides.org/
Investments: Managed investment funds with a good track record (you probably already do this)
http://www.investsmart.com.au/managedfunds/topfunds (not a uk site but you get the idea).
Gl

Thanks Sean looks interesting. Not quite sure what they're about though?

I do quite a bit of investing in shares under my Dads guidance. Pretty much just all long term investments though until I wanna buy a house.

its the gold standard in travel. you can go on the course and come out with a qualification that will allow you to work when you choose, stay in nice hotels and travel around the most beautiful parts of the country/world teaching tourists as you go. variety, job satisfaction and a decent income that would work around poker. Course details are on the site, extra pay with languages and any specialist knowledge. You freelance to the big tour companies mostly working out of London.

End of week 1 of WPT Month

The Good:

Cash Games. Not been great games but been running decent and really enjoying being back with the boys and actually enjoying playing poker again.

The Bad: Tournaments. 5 bullets of the £125 without a day two. 1 bullet of the £500 without the end of level 2. Had a sick pot where I peeled a 4bet of 3650 with KK, called a 6k cbet on 853hhx and called the allin of 18k on a Tx turn, and lost to TT. Also played online tonight UKOPS, ESCOOP and bricked the whole lot.

More bullets of the £500 to come this week and hopefully a change in fortunes in the tournaments, and a continuing in fortunes in the cash games.

End of Week Two WPT Month

End of week 1 of WPT Month
hopefully a change in fortunes in the tournaments, and a continuing in fortunes in the cash games.

Ask and ye shall receive!

Ended up firing 4 bullets at WPT £500 main and made day two with just 66k. But I had a good spin up and turned that into 170k about 50 off the money, which was just below average then lost AKs<AQo to bust. That was pretty painful if I'm honest. Always hurts to spin up a stack and then lose it, much better to just not have the hope and snap bust day 2!

Such an amazing tournament (though disappointingly crapshooty towards the end but what can you expect when you've got 2133 players to get through in 3 days).

Went for a Frankie and Bennies to detilt and remembered why I haven't set foot in the place for 5 years. To be fair, the food was actually very tasty (I am easily pleased when it comes to food though) but two people had birthdays and that god awful song blasted through the place each time. If anything the visit tilted me further.

I went back to DTD, reassessed and decided I felt fine and regged the 2nd chance, but was out pretty soon.

Went to play cash and ran very well winning a massive 3 way coup with QT vs A9 and AK on a dream AJ9K board.

Woke up yesterday and went down to reg the turbo day 1 of the 2nd chance and grinded into day two with 50k and then ended up god moding it to the win.

Had dream situation on the FT, with a huge chip lead and a £3k seat bubble for top 5, so I could just go nuts and there was nothing anyone could do. And when they did get it in I just won every all in - was truly blessed yesterday.

So it took 11 bullets to notch up a cash in this festival but I made it count. Very happy indeed.

Few drinks tonight I think...then Main Event on Wednesday.

What was the bottom of your limping range when you had K7o?

What was the bottom of your limping range when you had K7o?

That was an interesting one.

You had 1bb, with 8 left, so I wanted to obviously play as many pots as possible being 2/9 to exert icm pressure on the others. I would ordinarily just open very wide there but because both blinds were pretty much wild cards (had not been on their tables or played before - only seen the russian 5x pre once on the final) and the sb was the CL, I thought I could do that more effectively post flop. There were many hands the CL (sb) might 3b if I opened, but would complete to a limp. Similar with the russian (who ended up checking AQ here). The button was obviously really tight and unlikely to enter the pot either way.

So it was a unique spot where I was very keen to play the hand one way or another, and felt that since I had a pretty ropey hand that couldn't stand a 3bet, limping and applying pressure post flop was a better way to do that with those blinds in particular, until I got a bit more infer about how they played.

So, no it wasn't the bottom of my range, although I guess it's pretty near the bottom in terms of playability.

Well played and very unlucky yesterday.
