2nd Race -  DOOBS had Il Etait Temps as a WIN not e/w (Minus 8.5)
              - REDSIMON had Found A Fifty as E/W . No points awarded but was 2nd at 13/2

7th Race - Marky147 had Mr Vango  as E/W. You awarded a place but it was only a 7 horse race and it finished 3rd (Sky were playing extra place) . Minus 19 .
                DOOBS as above too.

Sorry guys, but there is money on this.

Knottikay is a grass -30 points.  Smiley

No it is ok, was thinking that looks too much and was about to check.

Real life. Backed one horse. Lost. Obv

I am in hospital currently and possibly for a couple of weeks so missing all the late night stuff but she's looked good this season
Sad to hear it, hope you get out soon.

Missing some great tennis.  I was thinking that Raducanu would get the British number 1 spot back when fit, but would be backing Boulter to be number 1 at the end of the year with an even bet.

Bookies have Raducanu shorter than Boulter for Wimbledon which seems wrong too. It is only 3 months off, Boulter is in the form of her life, and though Raducanu has shown flashes of her old game, it still seems a bit of an ask for her to be at her peak by then.  Boulter seems to be 90% to be seeded, Raducanu maybe 10/20%?

I did attempt to stay up last night, but got to 11.50 and they moved the start time to 1.30am and that wasn't ever going to happen.  I watched the highlights this morning and was still hitting big forehands.  There have been a lot of double faults, but that might just be a symptom of a more aggressive game plan?

Anyway, she is now seeded for Indian Wells, and a seed must be near guaranteed for Wimbledon and the French Open.  I think I said here or elsewhere a couple of years ago that I thought she could get top 50, but wasn't sure about top 32.  It is a big step up in quality at Indian Wells, but top 20 must be a strong possibility with very few ranking points to lose.  Wouldn't rule out top 10 now.

Turns out Boulter isn't seeded for Indian Wells, so has a pretty crappy draw.  I was originally thinking she wouldn't be seeded as it was too late, but saw someone say she would be as it was decided on the 4th.  It was decided on the 4th, but they ignore the win which makes little sense.

Just seen the new year update Doobs.

I started the year weighing 15st 2lb, having put on near 5kg over the Xmas period
Plan is to get down to around 13st 7lb

Currently training for 2 half marathons in March, longest run so far 8.3 miles

How are you doing on this?  Think a half marathon is beyond me.  Maybe 10k is feasible in a few months?

One of my friends is doing a full marathon and was up to 19 miles in the rain.  Can't imagine doing that.  Think this is why I am struggling with running.  I don't mind running when it is spitting, but no interest in spending 3 hours outside when it is chucking it down!

Just going to do an update.

I did reach 102.5kg.

I had been struggling a bit with getting fit over the last 6 months and getting weird tingling in my hands since having COVID (don't want to be associated with the long COVID crew though!).

Turns out I have type 2 diabetes now.  Am giving diet a go, and got down to 99.1 in a couple of weeks (from a peak of 102.5).  Already feeling a bit better when running, so going to try and get my weight down further.  95kg is 15 stone which is where I was a couple of years ago.  Think the long aim is to get down to 90kg/14 stone, which is where I was maybe 10 years ago. Hopefully this will put the diabetes in remission and give me hope for faster 5k times.

Stayed up and watched Boulter last night. Her game starts at midnight, so can't see me staying up.

She is playing so well right now, really putting some tonk on it. I don't know what she did in the off season, but seems to have made a step change to her game.

Top 32 seems inevitable now, even if she doesn't win tonight, as she hasn't got many points to defend for the next couple of months.

very good second set today by Emma, not a kind draw though Ons Jabeur will be a tough cookie

I now think that Ons Jabeur match is going to be pretty close, certainly wouldn't take long odds on.  I wouldn't have expected that a month ago.

Jabeur got tonked in Australia and Raducanu now playing as well as she has since the US Open.  Would definitely want to watch it, but likely stuck at work.

Maybe top 32 by US Open isn't a stretch, though she needs to run better with draws.

Watson got through qualifying too, so maybe she is going to put last year behind her?

So Raducanu is slight odds on vs Jabeur, so guess she isn't going to be a value proposition for some time?  She has got that bad stat where she hasn't beaten a top 10 player yet (think she has beaten 11 and 12).  Obviously an ideal time to play Jabeur.

As a reward for a decent win, Watson has a very good draw in the next round playing a lucky loser.  Also got lucky yesterday as she was due to play a bang in form Ostapenko, who then dropped out.

Dart also won in Romania and gets top 100 if she wins in the next round.

Murray didn't.

We have 5 girls still in the Australian Open Juniors; 3 of which are already in the last 16.  I know that doesn't guarantee anything,, but looks like we have a bright future right now.

Unfortunately can't stay up til 4am to watch them..  Maybe will make an effort for a Klugman final.

think Norrie played much better than a long time last 2 matches, but i still think he could struggle to remain seeded  for Wimbledon. Think he has points points to defend from early last season and he is much lower ranked this season which will mean less favourable draws.
Hoping he proves me wrong as i am a fan

Saw quite a bit of it.  Played well, but fading in set 5 after early breaks, despite making the tie break.  Was expecting him to lose it, but not get beaten up so badly.  Think it is still promising.
