I think Doobs, Chompy, Bad Beat, Arbboy, Horseplayer, Big Adz, redarmi etc all add different things on this forum and all have views I respect.

I hope Big Adz gives his views on Saturday because he has racing knowledge which I believe is valuable to this thread.

Its all appreciated by me and I think others who are happy to throw in a few quid and trust your collective judgement.

I'm looking forward to Saturday.

Neil

If you look back at my big post, I think an average Scoop 6 player should have been playing if it was evens the jackpot to go.  I think we have an edge so we should probably have played, as should your other 2 syndicates.  You could balance that edge by saying it is a lot of money for taking edges in high variance betting, but we are all poker players, so should be used to that.

I think the numbers can only get better as time goes on, so guess you can play this week even if you think it will be 40% to go.  I think they may go the 5 TV handicaps and the Lockinge.  Even though they won't like including the Lockinge, it is the last race on Channel 4, so would be great from a publicity point of view, though clearly bad for dragging the bet out.  Most will be banking on Olympic Glory there, and rightly so...

I took your point on the last race on board when you sent it by PM. Sure the last horse I added was about 20/1 and made me a bit more relaxed on Chompy's biggest priced horse.  I think it is probably a bit swings and roundabouts, as I think it must be better for the win part of the fund, but will be detrimental to the place fund.  Given the bet died on race 5, I don't think we can be sure which side wins.  I think you were probably still right.

Are any of your syndicates big enough to double down on some lines?  I am sure some of the bigger syndicates do thus, but don't think we can be big enough.

Isn't the strategy of some of the bigger perms to banker the shortest price runner in the 6th leg which frees up a load of extra stakes to be used on more selections in the previous 5 races. This gives you more chance of getting thru the earlier races and then leaves you the chance to hedge your returns on the shortest price runner in the last race should you get there?

Obv needs a good Betfair balance to hedge and people to work out the expected returns, double check the lay amounts are correct and actually place the lays.

ps also think the guy that does all the work and the guy that collects and then redistributes the cash if its a winner should get 1/2 price entries for their work.

In for £100 - no point having losses if you're not going to chase them.
