A lot of people are saying he's done his time and so should be allowed to compete and others are along the lines of No (once a cheat always a cheat).
The IAAF and the BOAC can't agree on what penalties to impose either but there's probably a very good reason for that.
The IAAF oversees all international athletic events and is responsible for the athletes livelihoods (sp?) but the BOAC are responsible for sending athletes to one major event, drug-abuse just doesn't stack up to the Olympic spirit (neither does professionalism but that's a different argument) hence the lifetime ban.
Life should mean life as the offence goes against everything the Olympics stands for, however the arguments for only a 2 year ban from other athletics events is again IMO about right as you are talking about a persons livelihood at the end of the day (it's a short enough career as it is so as long as people do their time and are then proven to be clean a 2 year ban is sufficient punishment).
Betfair does top 10 finishers and I'm tempted by Justin Rose and Oliver Wilson - doubt either will win but top 10 are definite possibilities IMO (not bad odds either Rose 4.3 and Wilson 12.5 currently).
Good post Tony and some good responses (especially Matt's).
Can I just check something though (apologies if I'm asking stupid questions or being a bit thick) but is it just cash games on Blonde that help pay towards the forum?
Only I play quite a bit on the Blonde cardroom but mainly MTT's and STT's (very rarely cash as I'm no good at it, probably my main leak is cash so tend to only play very rarely and mainly just for fun if there's a lot of people on the table who I know).
Does playing MTT's etc. benefit the forum at all or is it really just the rake on cash games that pays?
I ask because I do enjoy the forum and would try to change my playing habits if it would be advantageous to the forum for me so to do.
Had a good evening and bucket loads of goals including Wolves 7 Baggies 1. I did find it difficult to recognize a lot of players as many didn't have any hair left.
sigh shame we couldn't do that to them in the league last year.
I was upto 4500 after having KK in consecutive hands but then lost 1400 chips when middle pair and 4 to flush after flop didn't improve against top pair who bet pre-flop,flop and turn. I even had gutshot aswell after the turn so figured I had to call with 18 outs as I knew he only had top pair with good kicker.
Jeeves was given the night off. Tikay even resorted to pouring the wine for Julian and Rob himself. Standing to top up the glasses and pouring it just as Jeeves had shown him. As you can imagine Tikay was on his feet a lot doing refills.
Ah, so that's how he keeps his shape
and there was me thinking that was just the stress of playing 3 6 off.
