Assorted chip counts, photos etc.

Matt Tyler - not actually 37k as he claims, but in reality 3.7k and a single Maoam candy atop his stack. Looks to be either strawberry or cherry flavour.

(Has not actually spilled red wine down his front as my photo makes it appear)

Nick Hicks - 7.5k

Lucy Rokach - around 15k
Alan Vinson - around 25k
Chris Bruce - 8k
tikay - 6k

Apparently there are some kind of technical difficulties with the system at the desk as well - I went back to ask if I could have a full player list, but the gentleman there told me that something in the system has changed since last month and they are no longer able to print or email us a player list, unless we are prepared to wait a few days for him to call the IT engineer-types and for them to get back to him. Sad Alas, no full player list for us today - sorry, Horneris. Hopefully full player lists will be back next month...

Payout structure and actual number of starters if available please.

Actual number of starters currently displayed on the board = 173

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh who was the peskey extra man

Probably tikay, to avoid paying you your £50.

My apologies if Dana reported this earlier on (I couldn't spot anything), but a big scoop that we may have missed was the exit untimely exit of Simon Nowab. It wasn't the most fortunate of hands, and it certainly didn't come particularly late in the day as the opening line reveals...

The blinds were 25 50 and with five limpers in front of him, Simon made it 450 to play with A-K. They all folded round to one chap who dwelled before calling. The Flop came A-A-8. Mateyboy bet out 1k, Chubbs made it 3k and Mateyboy pushed all-in. Chubbs, perhaps semi-reluctantly, made the call, only to be shown A-8.

Personally, I think it was a bit of a cooler, but is there an argument there to say Simon could have folded. Would any of you guys have let it go?

"A-Q or A-J, I think I could have got away from it," added Chubbs.

Here's Bash becoming the 50th (he raised his bat to the crowd) player to hear Chubbs' tale of woe.

How are the text updates going?
 scared

marvellously thanks

just need an updater to check the inbox now lol!

(real answer: slowly, but we will fight them on the beaches, and perservere to see if its an idea worth pursuing)

The inbox has been checked, as it was five minutes ago, and low and behold, we do have a text...

Bongo
test123

see my real answer above!

I agree with Tractor, suitable for huge unwieldy comps with 400 runners....but we need to test it out first

How many of the players know about the txt system?

Maybe an idea to make up some small flyers for the tables for next time you try this, definitely a good idea.

agreed, ty. From small acorns.....

These things take time. Word will spread the more comps we do.

In the meantime, we have received a text. Drum roll please...

Ben Callinan has tripled up! He found himself all-in with Td-Th vs. 9c-9s vs. As-7s on a 2s-3c-7c Flop. Kc and Qs Turn and River now means he's shot up to 27k.

Here he is raking in his chips as cool as cucumber or any other such vegetable. A carrot perhaps? I've also thought a courgette was pretty cool, and it looks very much like a cucumber too so perhaps should be categorised in the same manner. Oh, what the heck... here's Ben raking in his chips as cool as a courgette. Go the courgettes!

Here's a chirptastic Maz Charalambous after eliminating Fran Creed earlier on. Maz now on 28.5k after generously counting his stack for me.

Pete Linton, who is yoyo-ing like Julian Thew on a bungee, is back down to 22k after (1) trying to push a straight through and being looked up by 2nd pair, (2) seeing a flopped set out-flushed and (3) "generally just playing a lot of hands".
