"Good game! Good game!" thought Chris Bruce as he found himself all-in with A-9 versus Kevin Lund's A-K. But a nine on the Flop was a Brucie bonus, and a Kingless Turn and River was nice to see, to see, nice. As a result, Bruce doubles up to 8k. Woweeeeee.

Waheed Ashraf races over with the jubilance of a small child on Christmas Day to report of a recent double up. He was down to 2k, but after climbing back up to 7k, can now boast a meaty-in-comparison 15k stack. Calling a pre-flop raise of 700 with , Wade, as he is more commonly known, pushed all-in to the aggressor's 2k bet on a drawtastic Flop. Mateyboy (who may have been Maurice Nicholson) called with Kings, but was unable to survive as the dealer popped out an Eight on the Turn to give Wade the straight.

On a side note, you don't hear of too many Wades. The only one I know is this duck from the Garfield cartoons. It's definitely not him though, he hasn't got the rubber lifesaver on.

Only had 1 showdown, when tight utg made it 800 @ 100/200, MP flatted it, and i flatted in the sb with .

Flop came Two Diamonds

I checked, utg bet 1100, mp made it 3100, i thought then shoved for 7575 (as u do with the nuts). Utg folded and mp dwell called with QQ.

And it held ldo.

Then i've been popping in LP whenever Linton folds lol.

As we all know, there are many poker see-saws in this wonderful game, and as one man reaches for the sky, another drops down to the ground. Although Julian Thew often seems to be at the top of that see-saw, he was forced to sit disgruntled at the bottom as Mick Jones waved his arms joyfully at the top. On an A-7-J all heart Flop, Julian called a 600 bet with A-7 (two blacks) before being faced with an all-in of 13k from Mick. Believing he was ahead, and willing to gamble, Julian made the call to find Mick with his fingers semi-trapped in the cookie jar with Kh-Th. Although it was the heart that Julian inevitably feared, the card that killed him was a Queen to give Mick the straight and see him go shooting up towards the sky. In the meantime, Julian is now back down to 10.5k and looking rather peeved, as his expression in this photo shows.

And here is Bruce celebrating his double up during the break.

WEATHER UPDATE FROM MY CIGARETTE BREAK:

Bitterly cold and snowing heavily, even though it was sunny before.

TIKAY UPDATE FROM BEFORE MY CIGARETTE BREAK:

I thought I was taking a heartless photo of the Great Man busting out, but he was merely moving tables. Might not be long, though - he's on 4.5k, with the blinds going up to 200/400. Having a lovely time, though, as not evident from this photo.

Can someone tell Mr Boldie that he needs to log off when he's used a PC at DTD.

PS. This is EvilPie. I'm very evil and very pie like and am currently on 14.5k chips. Dave Smith hitting plenty of hands, playing them really well (as you'd expect) and probably on 35k.

I will now log off on Mr Boldie's behalf.

Simon Lawlor, Redsimon on blonde, has just above his starting stack. He was down to the felt at one point, but tripled up with A-J vs. K-Q vs. K-Q.

Are Des Jonas and Con Cronin still in ?

If so chip counts please.

Do you want the good news or the bad news first?

Hmm, I always think it's good to get the bad news out the way first and finish on a high.

Bad news: Somone else is now sitting in Con Cronin's seat and the Dazzler is no where to be seen.

Good news: Des Jonas is still in.

Crap, sorry, forgot that there was two lots of bad news, meaning that we're forced to finish on a low.

Bad News: Des only has 9k.

Indeed, I didn't notice before how you got your name, but all is clear now. I have finally got to the crust of the matter, as Junglecat would probably think was funny.

Did you get a picture of Con Cronin?  I'm pretty sure I met him at Birmingham Broadway the other day and he borrowed my hat.  A picture would confirm.  If it was him he is a legend.
