A question for the O8 experts.
We are playing 25,000 or so at 400-800, blinds go up in 6 minutes.
There is a raise in front of us to 1,600.
We have......
What would you do in this spot?

Not sure what my clasification is but will give my take on it
Firstly it depends on whether we have people to act behind and opponents style and stack size etc etc. In the hope of being unusually succinct, in general terms...
If opponent is quite short relative to our stack size I would just 3bet to isolate him and apply pressure. If the 3bet gets through fine, if he 4bets then fine we have the odds to go with it.
If opponent has a comparable stack to ours and is not short then I would generally flat and look to take the pot on unfavourable boards for them and leaving plenty room to bail on the wrong board texture. Obviously in an ideal world we completely nail the board and can let them keep barrelling.
Having said that many of the caveats such as opponents style could completely alter how I would approach the hand.

Late reg has ended, we have 30,000 @ 500-1,000, with 95 of 127 remaining.
That's ok, but the game gets serious now. At least we never needed a second bullet. Don't think we've had one all trip. Yet.

Villain in that hand was good, pretty aggro, we had equal stacks, and I was in the Big. Nobody else in the hand.

Nothing wrong with a fold there imo.

500/1k
In the small blind.
Raise in 2nd position to 2500. Two calls. To me. I have
. I decide to shove (speculative?)
Initial raiser reshoves and gets the others to fold. He has
and quarters me. Down to 6k.

I would personally flat in general as suggested in reply above and get a bit of dialogue going through the action and see what the flop is. There are obviously a lot of outcomes postflop when flatting. I wouldn't mind letting it go to stiff action postflop even if we have semi-connected with the board as we just do not have the low back up, having said that there are some completely gin flops we can hit with an underrepped hand where we might get the opportunity to stack the opponent.
I have no problem folding a completely dry AAxx preflop on occassion but you have broadway and flush draws so I personally think we have to call 1 raiser.

With your stack Simon, I think you did exactly the right thing.
EDIT - personally I think I would full pot it pre, not 2,500. As played, it made no difference though. Except you would have lost more.

With 12 BB's I have made similar moves in similar situations with worse...
There is a decent high orientation to your hand which plays well over a board versus a chunk of many potential opponents ranges. If we manage to get HU then obviously the extra juice in the pot makes it even more favourable.
Unlucky on the outcome :/

Don't think he opened to 2500 or am I reading it wrong?
