Hard to get an answer off players as to whether they have a Golden Chip in play or not, as obviously if players know then it completely effects the dynamics, since these players will now be playing the tournament like a satellite

Im fairly sure James Clarke has one in play
David Amos definitely does, as does Scott Garner
Fairly certain Jasmine Foster does too

I played with Peter in Spain as he reminded me yesterday, and never had any problems with him myself, think he's good fun at the table.

Mind you , not by any stretch can I be classified as a typical woman at the table.

I didn't see the incident myself but I've had men tell me I should be at home ironing, not playing poker. Once.

thanks

I did GP4, I think, when Kelvin Mullis finalled with a Golden chip and the others didn't know. As I knew, but couldn't publicise, the dynamics were very interesting to watch and report on correctly

Should be a good day.

Next player out, in a 3.5million pot
Rich Milner gets it in with   Ad Ks - think it may have been a 4bet jam
Peter Evans snaps it off with  8c 8d
King on the flop, 8 on the turn eliminates Milner in 24th position

Most of the time when players exit I say a quick unlucky or whatever, never give it much of a second thought - it's poker - but can't help feeling for Richard Milner. He's waiting for his big bink and felt this was his moment: poker gods felt otherwise.

However, he must be content that he is the only player to have finished 199th and 72nd in the same comp, according to his Hendon Mob.

Richard Milner

Mo Fassil gets it all in preflop for 740K with As 3s, Peter Evans finds a call wit KQ.

Fassil vs Fossil

Flop runs out Q high  4c 9s Qc  Turn 5s and the Qs on the river to give Peter trips but Mo the nut flush - cue fist pumping.

Once Mo has calmed down he turns to Peter and says "unlucky, nice hand"

"Thank you" Peter says. Then a long pause and " Don't do it again"

Jasmine Foster has come from Sheffield after satelliting in and seems to have pretty much folded her way into Day 3.

Her Golden Chip prominently beside her 12 bigs is there as a constant reminder to the other players that she isn't getting it in light when she eventually does ship.

If you had a Golden Chip would you have it on the table? Or if you DIDN'T have one, would you pretend you did?

Blinds up to 30k/60k, with the ante at 10k
I feel this could be a level where we lose a fair few, average currently at 25 big blinds but the size of the ante will surely entice some of the players into more regular blind steals

Dan Oneill raises to 190K UTG, BB is now 60K.

Folds round to Everton Downer who shoves his 405K allin whic is obviously snap called by Dan olding AK.

Everton has 2s 9s

I don't need to tell you he hit his duece while Dan bricked the lot.

Everton wins. Not two words you see together very often.

Mo Fassil does the same vs him, 3bet jams for 2mil

Peter Evans is proving old school still beats pre schoolers, whether through sheer tenacity, luck or the ambivalence of simply not giving a toss.

He's raising much more than he's folding, and with a lengthy Hendon Mob dating back to B.C, it's clear he does know what he's doing.

He's not bantering so much today, but I think it may be a little early in the day for him just yet. Give him time to shake off the hangover and I think he'll soon liven up.

flushemout told me earlier that he hasn't been back to DTD since a horrible beat vs Chinese Frankie with KJ in the 300 DS 2 years ago, and tells me he hasnt played the hand since
I stand behind him to see a pot unopened, folds round to him in the cutoff as he takes a sneaky peek at his cards...  Kc Js
Reluctantly raises, he gets it through and breaths a heavy sigh of relief

Since Everton's exit we are breaking table 11, so now down to 18 players on two tables.

I can tell you now - NINE of these players have Golden Chips.

So half the field have a Golden Chip, however, only TWO players have them on display on the table.

(I can't disclose who has them if not on display, sorry)

Mo Fassill raises in the hijack, folds round to Scott Garner in the BB who 3 bets him.

Mo thinks for a while and asks "will you show if i fold" Scott says nothing, but Mo folds anyway.

Scott spreads the two cards out and says pick one.

Mo points and Scott flips over an Ace.

David Amos says "Aw I wanted to pick the other one" so Scott laughingly obliges, and shows another ace.

Fireworks on a  Qs Qd Ts flop
Amos gets it in with  Js 9s
Everton Downer with  Qc Jh
6s 5s on turn and river,
Everton out in 19th position.

The original raiser in this hand was Mo Shoahebe, who had pocket fives, which he (reluctantly) folded.

The five on the river to give David his flush of course gave Mo the boat, so he now thinks it was a really bad fold.

I'm amazed he got away at all as he is opening for around 400K each time, with the blinds at 40/80K.

Big big pot on Table 12.

Mo Fassill limps UTG, folds to Simon Brown who announces all in.

He puts his chips over the line and then puts his head down on the table, either to prevent himself giving off a read, or maybe he was just tired.

Scott Garner next to him dwells for ages, and eventually makes a flat call.

Mike Wright then thinks and folds, followed by an immediate cry of "ALL IN" by David Burghard, who shoves his stack in, stands up smiling like the Cheshire Cat on Ecstacy and throws his cards into the middle face up - K K.

Immediate shouts of WTF etc as Mo still has to act, as does Scott, whho only flatted the original allin of 845K by Simon.

Mo folds and says Thanks for showing man, you saved my life, Simon looks distraught and says "I can't beat that" and everyone looks to Scott to see what he wants to do.

Scott says "Fold" Couple of people ask how he can fold when he has so much already invested in the pot and he says "Because I'm behind" and shows pocket tens.

17 players left on two tables, 9 still holding Golden Chips.

Break time now, next level is Level 31, when the blinds will be 50K/100K running ante of 10K.

average stack is a mere two million.

Allin now on last hand - this information is subject to change...

Simon turns over As Qs. Railers suddenly start a chorus of "Ace Ace Ace", so I think it's safe to say Simon has his family a\nd friends here today.

I just had to break some bad news to David Amos during the break.

We were discussing Mo's fold for less than 3 bigs after Jasmine shoved earlier, and David says

"He was UTG - he's never raising there without a big hand"

Sorry David - UTG is this season's new black. Anyone under 40 is only ever raising light UTG.

He still doesn't believe me - despite Mo showing a four and folding.

Dale Perry raises, Jasmin ships in 540K and Dale reluctantly makes the call with 33.

Jasmine has A K

Dale's railer shouts "Come on the threes - hooooold"

King first card out.

Jasmine doubles up, still 8 Golden Chips in play from 16 players.

How many spots pay the golden chip ?

Top eight places qualify for the GC promotion.

So theoretically, Rob could be forking out EIGHT packages by the end of today.

No chip counts as yet, as soon as they are done they will be up on the DTD site, then pasted on here.

Mr Le UTG limps
Aaron Adams makes it 300k, playing 725k total
Peter Evans makes it 700k, Le folds
Adams tank. surely his plan was to raise fold out of his 7 bb stack?
finally calls
Adams -  Aspades Jh.
Evans -  9h 9s
9's hold, Adams 16th for €674

Boom, another one bites the dust.

Mo Shoahebe raises 300K with 900K in total.

Mo Fassill announces allin, but Simon in seat 5 asks for a count.

Simon eventually passes and MoSho can't call fast enough, flipping over KK, only for his shoulders to suddenly droop as Fassill flips over A A.

No internet beats and it's Mo Money for Mo Fassil, and No Mo Money for Mo Sho, who gets e674 for 15t place.

Oneill -  Ahrt Kh
Wright -  Aspades Tc
"King on the flop please" says Oneill
far from it  Td on the flop
Broadway draw on the turn, no good for Oneill
Oneill 14th for €674

Folds round to Mo Fassill who thinks for a while and eventually shows Jack Q J off.

Jack says "It's a good hand" with just the faintest tinge of sarcasm and folds his cards face down. I don't think he would have been too upset by a call there.

He knows he had nothing in the pot but to see he would have had quads and taken three players out isn't the best reward for a good fold pre.

Spent twenty minutes trying to "fix" my live feed here at the table, until Simon pointed out the live feed is blocked in the club.

That's why I can't see it then.

So we're on a ten minute delay which hopefully there won't be many spoilers on here for those of you watching updates and the live stream. I can't promise though as I don't wear a watch.

Simon asked if I wanted to do live commentary with him - I was sorely tempted but felt it unfair to abandon you lot and leave you without me :D

I'm told it's a seven minute delay now.. maybe one of you will kindly confirm after this post, apologies in advance if the delay is in fact longer and I wreck your viewing!

Dale makes it 500K UTG, Raggy can't resist making up his 160K BB to see the flop of Q 2 8.

Both players check, a turn of 9s encourages Raggy to make a tester bet of 550k, which encouraged dale to whack it up another 145K.

Raggy backs off, but then takes Dale's BB next hand.

Shortly afterwards, Simon shoves all in on the cutoff, snap call by raggy.

Simon has A K, Raggy has JJ

Flop is 8 8 8

Simon calls for another 8 at least. Clearly not listening, the dealer instead gives Raggy a Jack. Simon out in 7th place, taking home e2359.

Raggy da man!

Raises on the cut off to 550K, called by Dale on button and then David Amos takes it up to one million to play.

Raggy flats.

Seven high board, Amos checks, Raggy goes all in, after Amos folds he shows pocket tens.

Raggy on nearly 11 Million.

We've lost Mike Wright, Blonde's Flushemout!

Blinds on Blind and Blonde on Blonde, David Amos raises in the SB to 380K. Mike elects to flat.

Jack high flop and Dave "always has it" Amos checks to Mike who bets out.

David 3 bets and Mike is left wit two options: fold or all in.

Folding is for the fainthearted says Mike and reshoves all in to be snapped off by David holding J Q for top pair on the flop of J 5 7

Mike is in poor shape for improvment holding 10 5 for bottom pair.

Q on the turn and a 2 on the river, Mike Wright goes home in 6th place.

We've still got one Blonde in - David Amos wit about 9.3Million of the chips in place.

Raggy now has well over 12M and Peter Evans has 5.2M.

Still to play for

1   21,913

2   12,406

3   7,753

4   5,394

5   4,382

Jack is the only player left out of the five remaining players who won't be going to St Kitts on a Golden Chip promotion.

He will be off to St Ives on a National Express promotion instead.

Peter makes it 600K, 3xBB.

Jack Fairman goes all in from the SB for 1.7M total.

Peter Evans makes the call with A 10 but bricks out against Jack's pocket sevens, and Jack is back with a stack.

Still a small stack admittedly, with less than the average of nearly 7million, but with at least e4382 coming his way, he's good for St Ives still.

David opens for 475K on the button, Don't know wat he's hoping for against Peter and Raggy in the blinds, but if he was hoping for two flat callers, he got it.

Flop comes 10d 3d 9s.

Peter annouces allin, followed by two fairly rapid folds and Pete shows the 8s.

Dale raises 500K

Jack decides he's had enough of everyone else talking about the Caribbean and says Allin.

David Amos looks like he's thinking about it, but folds, back round to Dale who shakes his head and says

"Yours is better than mine", and folds an ace face up.

Peter Evans laughs and says how do you know till you call?

Five players left still, from 2325 starters.

No mean feat.

Blinds are a whopping 100/200K, 30K ante.

ASv stack just 7Million.

David Amos has some game for an old bloke... trouble is Peter is still so young at heart he's outplaying him like Jake Cody vs yer nan.

Peter makes it an innocent little min raise UTG of 400K.

David makes it 1.4million in the BB, obviously remembering my tip that UTG is now the new button.

However he forgot, I did say "under 40s" only. Big Mistake - Peter lashes all his chips over the line

David folds and says "Well I had to ask didn't I"

He certainly got his answer!

At least he's having a go. I will be asking a valet to put a mirror under Dale & Jack's noses shortly to check they are both still breathing.

Peter Evans has departed in 5th place with e4,382 plus a £6K Caribbean package courtesy of DTD Golden Chip promotion.

He raised with pocket kings and bet them on every street, keeping James "Raggy" Clarke chasing alonside him with a heart flush draw.

River was a third King for Pete the Bandit, giving him a set and zero chance of getting away from it, but was unfortunately also the King of hearts for raggy.

Flush draw delivers and Peter Evans is off to get into his Speedos for the beach.

We lose Dale Perry, finally finds a hand in the form of A 10 and gets it all in on the button, but his stack is neglible and so David Amos makes the call in the BB with K8.

Flop is King high, Dale doesn't improve and he takes home £5,394 for fourth place plus his £6K St Kitts package.

And we're Heads Up!

Jack Fairman can fight the long fight no more, he finally gets it in with Raggy, Raggy has K 7 soooted and Jack has 7 5 soooted

Flop runs out giving Jack a little hope in the form of an open ender, 6 2 8, followed by another 6 then a cruel 10 dashing his dream.

He does however take home e7,753 for third place.

Short break now while nine members of staff count raggy's stack.

David made a valiant effort to take the lead, getting Raggy to put down the best hand on at least one occasion HU but it was destined to end as soon as he found AJ in his BB - after Raggy unearths AA.

Of course David got it all in - as you would - but was drawing dead after a raggy paired flop and turn.

James Clarke is the winner of the April Grand Prix - he wins 21,913 euro and a £6k St Kitts package courtesy of DTD.

It's no exaggeration to say that my, game has been improved immeasurably by being here.

James was an animal on the final table and I struggled to cope with him. I'll be watching the final table with interest and some trepidation about certain spots.

Final hand was just one of those things, happier to lose AJ<AA than a lot of other ways.

Wp to David and Raggy ain't a bad guy to finish 2nd too.
Appologise to Tommy BingHam as I may have been a bit harsh on him and Jon. It's obv a hard job in the booth and they should be encouraged more.

would quite like some honest pointers tbf on how to handle it in the booth in case I get the chance to commentate in the future
All abuse/constructive criticism will be taken on board though ;)

Dedication above and beyond the call of duty, showing considerable "love for the game".

Many congratulations on a great performance David.

Top work as per usual by Ms. Mellencamp too whose one-liners never fail to make me chuckle. xx

A word for Mike 'flushthemout' Wright.
He suffered the consequence of making a fold that few players in that field could have made with stoicism and without rancour. He was drawn in the seat next to me at the FT and could so easily have resented my presence there but was an utter gent throughout the last hour.
He was, by some distance, the toughest opponent I had on Table 12. No disrespect intended for the others there, but Mike was so much harder to play against.
He wasn't the only one to be around to say well done, but he was there.

Top bloke - if karma is effective then he'll crush the £150 at Stoke this weekend. GL Mike, I look forward to tangling with you again
