Yes, Mercier seems a very popular choice. He scored well last year so I guess a lot of people have remembered that.

I hadn't seen that Urbanovich bet. It seems a very generous offer to me (given that Negreanu reportedly used to offer evens on himself or Ivey winning a bracelet).  I guess it's a reflection of his confidence and also an indication that he intends to play a very full schedule, particularly the large buy-in, small field events. Is Negreanu offering any bet this year?

I have to admit I don't follow the latest poker news (Tighty provides all the poker knowledge) so I'm not best placed to speculate on how things are likely to pan out. There are a few players who did well last year who haven't been selected by anyone this year. I'm sure that there will be some surprises along the way.

My major concern this year is that the size of the field for The Colossus might break my spreadsheet.

Mercier and Urbanovich both tweeted these bets, and I saw them on a news site. Not really sure about dnegs! I'm not exactly in the know with recent player news either! I imagine there must be some close circle bets going on though for sure.

 They have both been laid by Selbst for 3 bracelets 200/1 (Urbanovich has $10k on this) and Mercier has backed himself 20/1 for 2 bracelets this year.
