Updates of the CPP Tournament eg chip counts

DTD are asking players to post their own updates from poker and the trip and getting as many as possible to sign up.

Our Caribbean Poker Party has now officially started...

After a long journey we offered a very warm welcome to players attending the Caribbean Poker Party at the St. Kitts Marriott Hotel.

With numerous events happening throughout the week both on and off the Poker Table watch this space for further updates...

Players and their guests arrived safely last night on the Gatwick to St.Kitts flight and joined us for our welcome meal and live music, with a special performance by Devilfish!!

Our nightclub opened from 10pm and those who could keep their eyes open, danced the night away and took advantage of the all inclusive bar!

Today we have our Pool Party at 2pm with music from our UK DJ’s Dan and Adam, and all inclusive drinks from our swim up bar. Photos will be up on the Website , Blonde Poker Forum, Facebook and Twitter throughout the week.

Tonight the poker starts at 5pm with the first of our 2 Super Satellites kicking off at 5pm qualifying players into the $2700 + $300 Main Event (Day 1A Thursday, Day 1B Friday). The next Super Satellite is tomorrow night feeding into day 1B.

Also tonight at 8pm we have a $200 NLH Turbo “Win the Button”. We have a lot of interest in cash games from Dusk Till Dawn guests plus many guests of the hotel who have seen our banners around the hotel and are keen to get involved.

What better way to spend 30+ degree heat than chilling out at the pool with music and a free bar? There was a fantastic atmosphere at yesterday’s pool party whilst players got to know each other and soaked up the sun.

In addition to regular Dusk Till Dawn players, both online and live, we have players attending from all over the globe including a group of 90+ American’s who joined us yesterday from New York for a dedicated week of poker in the sun.

Each day we have scheduled poker tournaments from 5pm onwards to allow players to enjoy the resort at their leisure, many of which have brought families or friends to share their experience.

The food is out of this world with a range of all inclusive restaurants to choose from including the Seafood restaurant “Blue” where Land & Sea (Filet Mignon & Lobster tail) is a popular choice.

Last night we held our first Super satellite, a $500 Freezeout generating 4 seats into the $3,000 main event, congratulations to Dusk Till Dawn regular Ben Vinson who claimed his seat along with Italian Bordin Fortunato, who co owns the hotel and has flown over especially for the tournament.

The $200 “Win the Button” attracted 79 players with first place snatching $4,600 of extra spending money, and Dusk Till Dawn legend Waheed Ashraf taking second place for $3,000 to donate to roulette ;)

Rob Yong, Devilfish and James Dempsey (who this week signed as a pro for IveyPoker; congrats Flushy) were among the high stake cash game players attracting a strong rail of spectators.

Loving every moment of this. Got upgraded on arrival to the Royal Suite because my present "gimpy ness" necessitates a walk in shower. Amazing room/s!!

Played the $200 last night and made the final table - well the wife did losing me a few mates on the way!!!

All the team are superb and working very hard to make this a great event - apart from Sinclair who is working very hard on getting a tan ;)

Meanwhile it's raining in Cheltenham before a Board Meeting tomorrow.FFS.

What an amazing place.  Nicki and I are loving every minute over here.

Came third in the $220 side event on Wednesday for $2k. Never played a "win the button" tourney before.

We went out on a historical tour yesterday with David3103 and his daughter Lucy yesterday.
Toured the relatively small island and went to see the fortress at Brimstone Hill.
Fascinating and humbling place with incredible views. 
Went to a part of the island where you can see both the Atlantic and Caribbean sea and managed to take a great
panorama even with my dangerously llimited photography skills.

Playing the main event today,  really excited as its the biggest buy in tournament I've ever played. If anyone wants to buy a slice of me in the main event come have a chat with me today. Selling 20 percent at spot value.

My Day 1 was yesterday. Played 6 levels and at the start of level 6 I'd accumulated 60k plus vs an average of c35k. Felt surprisingly comfortable in the field, I'd say the average monthly deepstack is tougher.
Dropped back to 31k overnight though after a couple of errors vs shorter stacks.
Blinds on Day 2 start at 250/500/50 so pretty much any survivor has a chance.
Chip leader overnight is Matt the APAT guy with 134k. Doubt he can remember how he got them though ;)

Btw - this place is effing marvellous and I have to say the DTD staff have bee magnificent in their organisational skills.

Another fabulous day in St Kitts.
When DTD throw a party they do it in style.
BBQ on the beach, with a seriously good band playing live, sun shining down on us and great food. We ate at linen-covered tables, drank a variety of cocktails and beers all just 10yds from the Caribbean Sea.

If/when DTD do this again, I would sell a kidney to be here. The organisational skills being displayed here by the team would put the Army to shame.

Busted.

Lost half my stack calling a 3bet from devilfish with AQ. Had to fold after I check raised the AT3 flop and got shipped on. He showed AK but still hurt to fold it.

Dropped down to 14bbs, jammed 8c6c out of the BB after an open and a flat call. Opener called with AK and I was dead by the turn.

Looking forward to playing the 500 tomorrow.  Hope it gets more runners than the 300 last night.

big Birmingham City fan iirc. Ended up in Castlebar in Ireland with him and a hand full of other Englishmen  and seem to remember him being in the bar for a few hours of the comp, think Birmingham won a cup final that day but surely that can't be right can it?

They won the League Cup last year.

wow really only last year. Yeah just checked 2011, seemed so much longer ago. Nick Slade won a side event and I remember playing in the best PLO game I have ever sat in. Great company and awesome craic.

Just to go to room after end of Day 2. 36 through I think with chip leader Paul Grummit on about 240k. JP Kelly back to 170k after going down to 7k I have been told. I'm through with 80k. Average about 96k. Flushy out with 10 10 v KK. Matt Dale biggest chip swinger of day but on about 110k and Rob Yong up with leaders with 170k. Devilsfish 40k. I'm sure others will add their counts but these are what I can remember.

Luck plays it's part in tournaments in so many ways. Having a hand when someone else has one that is close enough to call; having your opponents have no hand when you make a move; hitting the one-outer; getting a decent seat draw.
I feel like I've definitely been lucky in my seat draw in each day. Not being disrespectful to Devilfish, nor to Pete Evans, but I've played against Pete a couple of times now and had the benefit of watching the FT video from the GP and Devilfish was nowhere near as scary or aggressive as I had anticipated. Check called him on turn and river holding  Ac 7c on a  Qh Td 4h 7d Jh . He announced that I must be good if I was calling but was less than impressed by what I called with. "Stick around, I'll have all your chips" ...
Not too disappointed by today's draw either. JP is obviously a threat as is Jules, but avoiding Rob for now, and some of the other big stacks feels like it's a pretty good result.

Whatever happens tonight this place is so good and the experience so massive that I feel I've won already. Anything else is a bonus.

Once again,  big shout out to Rob and the team. They have made this trip extra special.

One of the day trips earlier was to the rainforest and a 1300ft long, 250 ft high zipwire

The roast beef on that plate was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. With the turf part of the surf n turf being a definite top 3 contender.

Was a seriously great trip, might have done a few quid (lol) but had a really great time, the craic was outstanding and Rob and co put on a really really good trip, if the trip was to run again nexxt yr my name would be one of the first down and I'd be encouraging lots of my friends who didn't make the trip this time for various reasons to come as well.

From the welcome at the club in the early hours of Tuesday morning, through the fabulous organisation and support during the week. The parties, the games, the barbecue on the beach, the final night party also on the beach and the whole damned feeling that nothing would ever be problem for them those wonderful people wearing Crew t-shirts were outstaanding.

I'm an old bloke with a simple love of poker and you gave me the opportunity to Live the Dream in St Kitts.

I'll post more of my pics somewhere later, but for now, this picture of Lucy and I with both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean behind us will suffice.

A week to remember for many years to come......I hope one day I get the chance to return.....(6th Birthday Rob?)

I know it has been said by many....but DTD team were amazing.....multi skilled doesn't come close for making it all run so well!
