I'm not saying you should or shouldn't make an overbet, i just don't think you gathered any info with the raise and there are so many cards that are going to look awful to you on the river.

As previously stated i suck at cash so my comments are just feeble pokes at cash strategy.

I'd bet more than that too. Doubling his bet doesn't give you enough information.
