Title: DTD Grand Prix VI €100,000 Guaranteed : Day 2
Post by: TightEnd on April 28, 2012, 09:49:29 AM
By my estimation 2325 runners and 360 or so through

Number of Golden Chips through when we have the information.  1,000 satellite winners began all holding a Golden Chip, and if any of these players reach the Final Table they win a Caribbean Poker Package worth £6,000 AS WELL as their prize money.

Caroline Cove brings you a live Update of DTD Grand Prix VI Days 2 and 3 this weekend

It now takes extra special effort to type the letter "h" so if people can suggest alternative words for "Hero call" "Heads up" and various other poker related terms that use the letter h, I would appreciate it. Also looking for an alternative word for "the".

You ave no idea ow long tis post took to type witout battering te "" button...bloody ell.

First elimination I've seen today...
In a 3bet pot, we are 3 handed to a flop of  Jd 8c 2d
Dan Ward checks, Rich Burton bets 11k. Elliot Hayes makes it 30k, Dan Ward jams for 187k.
Burton gets out the way, Hayes doesn't seem keen on folding for his tournament life, and calls.
Ward -  Ad Qd
Hayes -  Kc Kd
Brick brick, Dan Ward is out

Paul Romain asked me to get a pic before he went out.

Now when people give themselves a rubdown, to me that's an open invitation, so I stood back from the table and asked him to move his big chips to the front...

I've never before seen Paul lost for words - his facebook updates fill my timeline - but for once I think I managed it. Hopefully this hasn't tilted him in any way, that would just be harsh.  Anyway, I'll go back for another photo shortly after he stops crying.

We also have Maria D here today, Greek Jack, Shola, Mrs Girgy, Johnny Z, Pete Wrigglsworth, Colin Young and more, i have got pics of them all but waiting on Tighty to answer his phone so he can give me the Blonde login for Picasa to download them! If anyone else knows it, please share with me via PM

Alan Armitage has also gone, had AA first hand and got no callers, then flops top two pairs with K Q on a KQ 8 board, wit two diamonds, manages to get it all with Rhyss Munnasser holding Jd 9d who gets there for his J high flush on the river.

I didn't see the hand so after Alan told me his beat I went to check on his opponent's name, asking "who took Alan out?" and the reply from Chippie Lester was "Really, Alan took himself out", so please accept my report as heresay rather than gospel.

We will be playing till midnight tonight I am informed, though not by Alan Armitage, so I think it's reliable.

15 levels should be played out, but DTD are giving themselves a little leeway depending on how many players we lose. Ideally we should be down to 3/4 tables by the end of play.

Any more than that and we will be randomly selecting names to take flips for their tournament life.

Currently 5 mins left of level 16, there will be a short break at the end of level 17. Playing through to the end of level 30.

Adrian Gate has  5c 5d
River is  4s, Gate up to about 215k.

Good news in camp Demitriou
started the day on 80k, now up to 220k
Picked up a number of pots, then 4bet jammed against Elliot Hayes with  Ahrt Ks.
Hayes called off with  Ad Qd who apparently was in the same spot against her on Thursday but folded that time, AK held up.

I walk over to see Liam Batey's 70k stack get counted for a double up, with  Jd Td being shown against  Kc Kh, getting there with runner runner flush
"get it in pre and get there?" I ask, he quickly nods his head with a cheeky little smile
He got the double from Jehan Zaib who still has a healthy stack having come into today as one of the chipleaders, Batey who recently ran deep in the UKIPT here in Nottingham up to 150k

Tan Luan Le - Mr Le  to his mates - final tabled last time I did the updates here.

He's currently on about 150K after taking a small pot down on the flopof 3s 4s 5c wit 4c 5s in his hand.

His Ipad is currently logged on to a site called Viethamvui.us, where he is watching a fascinating film showing various large fish being gutted and filleted. Other people choose motivational tunes, Mr Lee goes for fish and large machetes.

Anthony Fox shoves all in for 53K.

Big Blind Wayne Jackson dwells for ages and sigh folds Jd 10d, dramatically flipping in the air and across the table.

Tony Fox shrugs and flips over the 10s.

Tony then says to me it would be nice if he could be blogged actually winning a hand - Tony.. that was your one time.

Laura Austin, short stack since she sat down, gets her 37K in wiht pocket 8s, after a raise by Scott Garner on her right.

Another player then goes all in, and Laura mistakenly thinks all three players are allin and turns her 8 8 over.

Scott Garner hasn't yet made his mind up, but on seeing Laura's medium pair, he makes the call with pocket tens. Player three (sorry don't have name) has them both crushed pre with A A, but this is real life poker, not the internet, and of course and 8 comes on the flop giving Laura hope, only to be cruelly dashed by a 10 on the river.

This would never happen online.

How's Mo Dagia aka Chippie getting on? If he still has pics get a pic pls Caroline. It's like a solar eclipse- doesn't happen too often

Snapped him literally getting out of his chair for the break. He said to thank you George, for asking: I haven't told him good luck messages on here usually result in instant elimination.

Six minutes before players resume their seats.

169 players still left in, on 20 tables, as we enter level 20. Blinds will be 4K/8K ante 1K.

Adam M has just introduced himself, he currently has 150K.

I can confirm Max Roberts has about 520K which certainly makes him one of the big - if not the biggest - stack.

Mr Le is fuming after being bluffed earlier by Phil Ashton.

Mr Le raised with AQ and was 3 bet by Phil holding.. K 7.

On a flop of A J J Mr Lee bet out and then called a min raise by Ashton, Mr Le checked the 10 turn for Ashton to go all in. Mr Le said he felt he didnt have the Jack but eventually folded, for Ashton to table his king high to Mr Le's disgust.

As Mr Le was telling me the tale, Phil Ashton came back to the table and said "You're not still going on about that are you? It wasn't even King 7, it was King 3!!"

Brian Belgrove limps in for 8K early position, Samuel Watts decides it's a good chance to see a cheap flop for 1/5th of his stack, next to him Lee Cownmeadow decides there are far too many limpers and makes it 28K to go.

It folds round to Brian who doesn't miss a beat and gets his 125K stack over the line faster than Rob Yong smashes guarantees for million pound comps.

Lee doesn't think for too long before folding 55 face up. Brian flips over two red aces and is up to nearly 200K now without even getting to a flop.

Very next hand Samuel Watts pops his remaining 50K over the line followed by an allin by Lee. On their backs - Samuel has A 4 while Lee is ahead with pocket 9s.

Flop runs out 8 2 j 2 then a 9 on the river to fill him up and send Samuel over to collect his 150 euros.

No help for his opponent if Colin runs into him in the car park, after a lovely slowroll. Col got it in and was very reluctantly called, after Colin flipped his King Jack over, the other player shook his head and slowly went for his cards saying "I always lose with these" eventually showing the magic bullets.

Must be great being so optimistic.

Just been told about another TWO outstanding slowrolls here yesterday.

Apparently Simon Deadman was slowrolled time after time: the final one being the worst when he checked 99 all the way down on a flop of A 2 4 A 6, for his opponent to ask if he ad to show his cards after Simon had tabled his pair.

"Yes" the dealer says, "Or you can just muck"

Mr Douche #1 laughs and turns over aces in the hole, just quads, that's all.

Two unknown players were in a hand. There was river betting I believe, and it all ended in. One player declared 2 pairs - there were two aces on the baord.

The second player declared a straight and turned his hand over expecting to take the pot after player one's two pair declaration.

"Oh wait" Douchebag #2 says " My two pairs? I have Aces... and Aces..."

Yep, another gifted child with pocket aces making quads.

Alan Lamont, a manchester player who has had a few decent cashes this year so far, raises to 16K with 66.

Gets a caller, then a raise to 60K, Alan elects to fold and leave himself with 120K for a better spot.

The other guy calls and Alan vomits a little bit in his mouth as the flop comes A 6 6.

Well we're now down to 108 players over 13 tables, although another is being broken as I type.

Probably time to break two or three tables actually with the issues I'm having with my missing H button :(

Blinds 5/10K, ante 1K, going up to 6/12K and a 2K ante in seven minutes when level 22 starts. Nine levels left to play and they are dropping like darts thrown by a blind midget.

Even funnier - after calling he said to me

"It was the same hand as last time, the same hand, it was a sign, I couldn't fold it twice!"

But last time he said he had AQ... in fact if he had held AJ last time he would have flopped a full house on the A J J board!

Peter Evans not coming across nicely
He says to Jasmine Foster "what are you doing here?"
"what do you mean?" says Jasmine
"Haven't you got any ironing to do?"
May barely be acceptable if he was friends with miss Foster, but they've never met before, she is less than impressed by the comment
If looks could kill...

To be fair, I think an acceptable answer there would have been if Jasmine had replied "Shall I iron your face while I'm doing my own clothes?"

Alan Armitage has also gone, had AA first hand and got no callers, then flops top two pairs with K Q on a KQ 8 board, wit two diamonds, manages to get it all with Rhyss Munnasser holding Jd 9d who gets there for his J high flush on the river.

I didn't see the hand so after Alan told me his beat I went to check on his opponent's name, asking "who took Alan out?" and the reply from Chippie Lester was "Really, Alan took himself out", so please accept my report as heresay rather than gospel.

i did say he bet the river and i shoved having him on a/k but there you go i played the hand bad  ;booboo;  no bad beat

Talk of the devil, Peter Evans has just taken down a one million pot and taken a player out with Ace high!

Lee Marshall raises it up, 3 bet from Peter which Lee elects to flat and they both see a flop of Jh 3h 9s.

Lee bets out and Peter raises, effectively putting Lee all in.

After a bit of a dwell, Lee makes the call with Kh Qh, for a flush draw and an inside straight draw. Peter has As Qc, but the turn and the river are two low black bricks, sending Lee home and Peter into shock that Ace high took it down.

Unfortunately he didn't make any more friends when he immediately lent across to Jasmine and said "I'm coming for you next woman"

Alan Lamont just 3 bet all in to 95K after an opponent's raise to 20K.

Lee Gatteral made the call with A4, Alan's AJ looked in good shape till the obligatory 4 landed on the river.

Alan is genuinely gutted with 75th place, compared to what could have been.

Folds round to Lee Gaterell who announces "call" - thinking its blind vs blind, and is limping from the sb.
Gaterell then realises Brown had jammed, it means it stands as a call

Gaterell -  8c 5d

Hysterical moment courtesy of Zhung Ming Liao.

UTG John Sadler raises to 50K and Ming shoves his carefully nursed short stack of 7k - one third of a blind - into the middle.

All other players fold, and John Sadler gets 43K of his original raise back.

Wait a minute says Ming, looking at pot 1 in front of him, then pot 2 in front of John - "How is this right?"

Ten minutes of shouting and eventually the TD establishes that Ming expected a pot of his 7k, plus all the antes, and blinds, AND John's £50K raise in front of him.

The TD explains - many times - how Ming can only expect to get back what he has put in, and eventually we go to a flop, despite Ming's obvious reluctance at accepting he can't win in excess of 80K for his 7K allin.

John has K 10

Ming has J 6

The flop is Q J..... 9.

Straight for John, glimmer of hope for Ming on the turn when he hits a 6 for 2 pairs, but a brick river and all the arguing proved irellevant anyway. What a Mingbat.

Jimmy "Royle Family" Lee, started today as one of the big stacks but has taken a couple of beats and lost races he was favourite in.

In fact, as I'm typing he comes over to collect his prize money for 50th place. He shoved 350K on the button with A4, which with the bklinds at 24/12K with a 3K ante, is his only move. Ran slap bang into Queens and takes home 400 Euros.

46 players left in.

Gordon Goodall suffered a pretty sick fate at the hands of Dale "sleeps with dealers for hands" Perry.

Gordon min raises wit As Kh

Folds round to Dale who shoves all in on the BB for 400K with pocket 4s.

Gordon makes the call, for all his chips for the flop to run out

Ac 2d 9c.

Gordon leans back a little and breathes out.

Turn the 10c

Still breathing.

River 7c

Dale holds the 4c while Gordon has no clubs, and a mild coronary when he realises Dale has got there.

Gordon out with 400 euros.

Fox out, James Clarke is that man on about 2.2mil

Eric Spicer gets his short stack in with  Kh Qs
He wasn't expecting Sampson to wake up with  Kd Kc
And if he wasnt expecting that, he certainly wasn't expecting fellow shortstacker Adrian Gate to wake up with  Ad Ahrt
Aces hold, Gate with the full triple up, Spicer out.

Support staff have been deluged with paperwork for the past few hours as every player exits, they have to be "processed" and their winnings paid into their online account, which inevitably, every player can't remember the name or email for.

Anthony King has just crashed out in 42nd place with Queens full - no good against quads.

Anthony raised with QQ, gets a caller and makes a C bet on a flop of A 10 2.

His adversary calls, and Anthony immediately is done with the hand at that point.

However, the turn - another Ace - elicts no bet from his opponent, so they see a free river.

River is a third Ace. Anthony freely admitted at this point he thinks his opponent has a smaller pair or even a missed straight draw so when he checks to be faced with an insta allin, he calls.

Bah.

There's that pesky fourth ace, yep, right there in the other guy's hand.

425 Euros for Anthony, and the added bonus of no hotel bill for tonight.

What a Mingbat.

lmao @ mingbat

is peter the bandit evans still in ? monday day 1b and he was on my table, he was all in 100k pot with my mate who had aq hearts, flop comes an ace , river the 7 !  how the class run good eh !!! :)

You can't buy class you know.

Peter Evans currently on a very large stack and the crest of a wave.

As I go over to his table he raises it 80K UTG, and picks his cards up so I can clearly see them. I try to look away but of course I'm a woman, we don't have a discreet gene in our bodies, so I take a peek.

It folds round to Greek Jack who asks Peter if he has a pair of fours again. Jack asks for a count, has a think and eventually folds - claiming he passes A Q.

Everyone else folds and Peter cheerfully shows Jack a four.

He doesn't however show him the ace with it, sc oops up the blinds and antes and adds them to his messy stack. He says he doesn't know how many he has himself, but one of the dealers has kindly sorted them now in the break and tells me it is about 1.75M.

Mo Shoahebe shoves all in on the button for 665K after Raggy raises in early position.

Raggy says"I know I'm ahead, it's just if you hit one of your cards", not exactly a revelation to any other player at the table.

He eventually says Oh go on then and makes the call with pocket dueces.

He was right, he was ahead, and he was also right in his prediction, as a Queen hit the turn to give Mo his doubl;e up.

28 players left in, half an hour left to play tonight.

Jack Fairman gets it all in wit QQ against Peter Evans' A 8, an 8 on the flop but no more help and Jack's stack is back.

Well, he doubles up to about 9 Bigs, but it didn't quite have the same ring to it.

Mark PYne raises on the button, Mike Wright ships the lot in from the SB.

Mark sneeks a peek back at his hand and folds a decent ace, Mike shows Queens.

Another sicko cooler.

Pyne raises early position, reraised by Dan ONeill in the big blind. Pyne, who as been pretty active for quite some time, picks possibly the worst spot to shove it all in after Dan snap calls him.

Well, holding Aces, you're not folding are you? Pyne's A J is looking pretty limited next to Dan's Bullets, but just to add insult to injury, the flop runs out

As Js Jd, house over house, and Pyne is out in 27th place for 475 Euro.

Dan Oneill on over 2.5 Million.

1-0 to you Michael. The guy who was in seat 6 was the last one to show me a bluff... he managed to find a 3bet with 34, but given I'd raised with 94 the fold was pretty easy.
