Who is Mollema and is he/team a threat to Froome in the Alps/time trial?

Will Movistar now switch to Quintana and try to get him on the podium?

Hi Tighty

Done a quick update on TfT.

Mollema & Belkin are having a great tour, I can't see him riding away from Froome in the mountains, he's more a rider to follow wheels in the big mountains & hang on (I think....as he disappears over the summit  Smiley).

Today was exceptional & unexpected racing for a flat stage. So many twists & turns to come.

Away for a couple of days.

But will be on Thibaut Pinot for sunday's stage to Mont Ventoux. He's had some well documented troubles with descending, & this stage is the only opportunity to make a mark in the Tour & save his season. The French press have been giving him a hard time & his coach has suggested that this stage he'll be prominent. It's also Bastille day, all the French riders will be looking for a win on this iconic stage.

Surely one of Cav's best ever stage wins, outstanding tactically.

If Froome wins, it would be a truely great tour performance given the lack of team support he's had.

I believe Movistar have just made up 12 minutes on Saxo-Tinkoff and Belkin in the team classification after today's stage. Ladbrokes still have them at 8/1 last I looked. Just saying.

Best flat stage ever in TdF imo. Amazing tactics throughout the field.

Only caught up with the highlights of yesterday, looked like a great head to head between the best climbers in the Tour.

Froome looks in monster form. Only accident or injury can take it away from him.

Looks a pretty open stage, >50% chance a breakaway group could succeed. Rain expected at the finish & the tricky fast descent just adds to the lottery of this one.

Sagan favourite, but it seems likely his Cannondale team would have to pull on the front to reel in the break, not sure if they are up for it.

Some names in mind.

Philippe Gilbert, World Champion, & still no win this year. Looks to be in more than decent form with a better than expected ride up Mont Ventoux. With Evan out of the running for GC, he should have the chance to ride for himself.

OGE have this stage noted, Gerrans should be well rested have taken it easy on stage 15. They may use Albasini also.

If the GC guys make the finish in the front group, look for Michal Kwiatkowski.

Sounds like Argos-Shimano are looking for a win today, I've added John Degenkolb, small EW.

Gilbert has made it into the early break of 25 riders, together with Albasini & Meyer from OGE.

Now that the breakaway has been established, I quite fancy Adam Hansen for the win. He won a similar stage in this year's Giro, and as part of the Lotto-Belisol train for Greipel, is a more than capable sprinter. Bet365 are still offering each-way odds of 33/1.

Missed the price, agree good chance, can also solo away from distance if necessary. Good luck.

Haha. Hansen finished last of the breakaway bunch. His attack at the bottom of the final climb lasted all of one minute, before he cracked like a watermelon. Nice plan. idiot Oh well, can't win 'em all. Go Quintana!
