Good news, Betancur made the days break, & is first on the top of the climb so his intent is to pick up as many KOM points as possible. Peloton not giving them much time though.

missed it with being at work, but sounds a good one. highlights a must watch later. first chinks in the contador armour looking towards the tdf. frustrating seeing uran show some form, too late to be a factor

Leo Konig has done a fine job, a solid 6th on GC.

hat tip to Ryder Hesjedal & Steven Kruijswijk, both immense in the final week.

yeh, he really went for it, clever tactics. polar opposite descending skills compared to my french favourite thibaut pinot! I know its just the tune-up for the tour, but i expected a bit more from froome and sky as a whole this week

Froome certainly not looking 100%, vulnerable on those intermediate lumpy stages.

I rate Pinot, a feeling this TdF he'll go well, but top 5 is the best he can hope for. Lets see how he goes in the Tour de Suisse.

http://www.oddschecker.com/cycling/tour-de-suisse/winner

Spent an hour looking at this.

I'd see Spilak & Fuglsang as closely matched for the win. Maybe Spliak edges it with the prospect of rain & his better TT.

Majka I'd have filling the next spot.

I can't see Kwiatkowski or Pinot being at their peak yet ahead of the TdF.

Any thoughts nell?

strange that rui costa isn't there to mop it up as usual, and that G has come here to try and gc rather than support Froome at the dauphine. given the long time-trial to finish Spilak would be a marginal fav for me, but very slim. Not much of a Fuglsang fan when he has to be team leader. Pinot will need a big gap before the last stage, should make for aggressive riding in the mountains. majka will relish the chance to lead and do his own thing. will mainly be looking day-to-day, sagan to win one of the lumpy finishes (stage 8 probably), tom dumoulin in the tt's given cancellara has been ill lately, kwiat to target a stage etc

Have read Fuglsang has been mighty strong in the training camps, we'll see if it translates to race.

Majka has this as an objective, Tinkoff been cracking the whip!

Don't know if yesterday was good for froome looking ahead to the tour because he got the win, or worrying as van garderen was able to limit the losses to stay in the leaders jersey without much trouble. depends if you're glass half full or half empty i guess. Nibali's performance has been curious, boom or bust!
