I've never been to a bash, hope to be able to make it as long as the date is good for me.

How about something like this for a schedule:

Friday night: £10 satellite to the main event. Maybe a guarantee of 4 or 5 seats would get this rolling?

Saturday 4pm: £100 main event with a 30 minute clock. Play down to the FT.

Saturday 8pm: £20 mini main event with a 20 minute clock. Play down to FT.

SNGs/Cash games throughout the day.

Sunday 2pm: Both Final Tables + SNGs and/or cash games

If you want to get in the £100 but it's beyond your roll, play the sat on Friday night.

Or put up a staking thread, I'll flick in a few quid buying shares. Sure quite a few others will too. I'd say it's almost certain that regular blonde poster that would want to play the main and is prepared to put in maybe £30 of their own money and sells at 1.0 will get in.

That would leave plenty of time for football match, quiz, Sunday lunch and piss ups.

Quite like that format but what about throwing in a plo game on Sunday as well. Would love to be able to make it, please avoid last weekend in month if possible as work demands always increase towards month ends!!!.

I would be interested in this, already play in one society (BCPC) where the aim is get players into bigger tournaments than they can normally afford.

Enforcing payments can be the tricky bit, as not 100% on the legal status of any arrangement, but as has been pointed out you only lose a £10.

Would make sense that rather than a % going to Blonde that % goes back to those who put the money up, with a % being retained to boost the available pot.

However, that could create a lot of admin in working out who had an interest in each deal?.

no good at links but Cake - I will survive, Godhead - Eleanor Rigby, The Damned - Help., also seem to remember The Lemonheads covering Luka.

Also have to say the girl who sang Smells like teen Spirit on the voice (on Saturday) was quite impressive never would have thought it could be sung like that.

Thanks for running it and please to see I dropped down the leader board due to my lack of knowledge of One Direction. Although I never thought of royal flush on the poker hand question I just settle for a full house and think myself lucky!

Beatles (more like they never did anything for me rather than a dislike), One Direction!!!!, Take That I could go on.

I don't think you're "meant" to like One Direction unless you're a teenage girl to be fair

True but when you have an 9 year old girl most of the magazines, programmes seem to think they are the best thing since sliced bread. To be fair my daughter can't stand them either, she has even listened to Jethro Tull (and liked it) as she is learning the flute!

I personally would like to see more photo's (inside of property etc) the biggest impact is the image on the front page, therefore I would re-enforce that with some more images.

Professional qualifications and monitoring bodies are important but I think they are assumed by the majority of lay people and therefore I am not sure they need to be to in your face so would just show them at the bottom of the second page.

I was at a house party when Princess Diana went, we had no idea in the morning and were feeling a bit delicate so just wanted to watch Rawhide or the Walton's and feel a bit better, it took us ages to work out what had happened in the state we were in, there were just lots of people in dark suits instead of cowboys!!!!!

I can also remember where I was when the shocking news about Eric Cantona retiring came through (car park in Glastonbury) I had to take a moment to compose myself before driving off. (Much to my Wife's amusement) As a strange co-incidence I was living in Leeds when he was sold to United, and living in Newcastle when they sold Andy Cole to United, could not keep the smile off my face on those days.

You're 18 just finished school, good at poker, good student. It's 2015, do you go to university, get a job, play poker, get an apprenticeship or travel?
1) Go to Uni.

When I was young, I never knerw ONE person who got to Uni. These days so many more get the chance. They should take it.

Top notch question Pads.

Problem with Uni now is that everyone goes, and what's more, all the information they consume when they are there is readily available online. If I ever have kids, I'll be talking them out of going to Uni and instead spending a year or so working for free in an industry they want to work in. They'll learn more, progress faster and it will cost them much much less.

Remarkable how many young uns detest the idea of working for free, but happily pay for three years at Uni which guarantees very little in the workforce.

I think I was probably one of the first generations of people to go to Uni when degrees started getting worthless. I learned nothing there. I managed to learn to be self reliant and to budget, but that was in my student house, not the lecture hall. It's horribly cynical but the whole Uni thing today is a lie we are selling our young people.

I partly agree with this, I think to many kids just go to Uni because everyone else does and they really don't know what they want to do in some cases. I work in accountancy and the worst trainees for us would be those with accountancy degrees as they believe they know everything whereas a 18 year old who has spent the last 3 years working in accountancy is a million miles ahead.

Having said all that if I didn't need to work and could afford uni I would go and do an ancient history degree at the drop of a hat, and I think there are some careers that need the Uni knowledge.
165  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Ruling question: chips in beer string bet situation on: December 04, 2014, 03:00:33 PM
Certainly agree would not want to drink that drink also I like the idea of ordering a beer and making the table wait until it arrives before calling with it and £6k chips. Tempted to stick them in the drink as well as I don't drink.

Or I might go for a raise if there are other people still to act, so I think would have to order a curry and drop the chips in before pushing over the line.
