Some more big hands.

(i) Ian Woodley doubles up his short stack with AT v AJ (T on flop, A on river)

(ii) Luke Patten doubles up D. Grosvenor with QQ v KK.

(iii) Dave Colclough is cold decked when his KK runs into Womble's AA. No help on the board and Womble doubles up.

Dave Colclough is down to 15k and in need of a double up.

Howard Plant is now the short stack. I believe he claimed to have 9k left.

He raised from the button only to run into Dave Clark who moved all-in from the small blind.

Howard Plant mulled it over for a bit before opting to muck.

Must have been a nick then...

Iqbal Patel is out! Steve Wilsden raised it 8k. Iqy, who came 2nd in the Blackpool main event last week went all in with AQ for another 15.5k.

Steve called with pocket sixes.

and Iqbal is out.....but I've promised him a Blue Square fleece, not that its much of a consolation.

N Hussain is OUT.

He limped from the small blind with  .

Alan McLean raised from the big blind with  .

N Hussain moves over the top for all his chips. Alan McLean calls quicker than lightning.

Board comes:

  two spades

Alan McLean is now well stacked up and challenging the chip leader.

Permanent short stack Howard Plant moved in in early position for 9,000.  It folded round (after some serious dwelling on the part of Dave Clark) to Dave, who re-raised all-in for 19,500.  So they were heads up with Dave's  against Howard's  .  The board came  three diamonds Ah, at which point Womble said, "Say thank you to Mr. Colclough - I was calling with my 9 10 if he didn't do that."
