have you checked the system propierties to insure there is no conflicts?

also did you install teh correct drivers?

A complete system restore shouldnt be necessary. What connection is your mouse? ps/2 or USB? If its ps/2 get a USB mouse Wink

No I haven't. As it's a Laptop touch pad, it would mean me taking the whole computer apart and that would take ages. Also, I don't think it's a dirt problem, as it has only been going crazy since I upgraded the memory.

Try an external mouse see how you get on.

Check the Bios settings havent been reset when you removed the power to replace the memory.

Also try replaceing the nipple.

Memory upgrade should not cause this problem.

Well,

I turned the computer off last night with the laptop having a mind of its own and the cursor behaving erratically. I wake up this morning and all is well, the laptop doesn't have a mind of its own and the cursor is behaving itself.

Modern technology, eh.
