tut tut, putting temptation in the way of abstinence is not a good way to start your support bhoy
lol
Your body will feel much better and so will your mind. booze is a depressant so decreases the amount of 'feel good' chemicals if you over-do it on a regular basis. I think its an excelent goal. Goodluck with it

Bollox...I remember quite clearly that when i drank a few pints every day I was only depressed when sober..never when drunk..so it's definetly not the booze that's depressing

Oh yes it is:) It depresses the central nervous system and although you feel good at first, this is due to the depressant effects on you inhibitions and anxieties. Later if you keep drinking you either slump or fall asleep. Still not convinced it's a depressant?

i fell asleep last week admittedly after my session after a bad day at work..
crashed a birthday party, didnt know whose it was,but thats ok...
i had 5 bottles of stella, pre going out
4 vodkas with a pinch of coke
3 shorts ( VP,some cola bottle concoction,and some bitter apple stuff )
2 sneaky whiskeys (in the bar..outta sight )
1 magners,1 strongbow
2 more cans of stella
at this point i recall karaoking along to some neil diamond tune back at the birthdays boy's house ( anyone know his name , cos i sure dont )
at this point my memory fails me, but i did wake up on the couch ( my couch)

Do it Mugly !!!
Remember the song "Park life" by Blur ??
"It Gives me a sense of enormous well being"
Never a truer phrase as that when you set your mind to something and succeed. Remeber you aint doing this for anyone else other than yourself, so give it 110% and you will feel fantastic and proud for the right reasons.
Good Luck mate.

Elizabeth Taylor divorced Richard Burton after he gave up the booze, said he became a boring bastard.

Thanks all, just to point out i'm not a raving alcoholic.
Until last week i worked shifts, mornings and afternoons so 2 weeks in 4 i never went out during the week at all.
I'm just sick of waking up in random rooms in the house and mysterious puddles in the bottom of the fridge
I'm thinking i'm too old for it and the recovery time gets longer and longer.
Be interesting to see how this will affect my darts, the last few years i've been in awesome form and have just started entering competitions (lost in the quarters of a comp yesterday) for the first time in years.

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life.
Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft?
Of course not.
