What happened in the end?
Lol. How interesting.
Looks like a standard MU deal to me. Pay back the MU, in this case £330 then chop the profit.
She'll probably end up grimming him though and they'll hate each other forever. Shame but nvm.
hahah that's terrible!
PAYYYYYYYYY THE MAN HIS MONEYYYYYYY.
If she won the seat in a satty and wanted to play the tourney on her own dime as a result, she should have told the guy this beforehand. A text/phonecall/email/facebook message isn't hard.
May be a bad read but I bet had she not cashed she would have said something along the lines of *sigh* and bought a new handbag with that carpet.

It does say the backer was following the thread on here, and if so it was mentioned a number of times that she'd won a satellite into the event - so he would have been aware of that before she actually cashed (not that it changes matters, just something worth pointing out).
Interesting situation though - as the initial arrangement wasn't really fair for her, and now (from what's been said in that thread on 2+2), it appears that there's a grim reversal going on.

Why wasn't it fair on her?
Sounds like a MU deal to me.

I don't know, I just got the impression that it was a one-off lending of money to play an event - rather than a longer-term staking arrangement. He seems to be in a win-win situation whatever the result (unless he's grimmed). I guess we won't know the truth of what was agreed and/or if she has or intends to give any money to her ex.

Without the guy lending his ex the stake she doesn't even go to the casino in the first place. His stake is responsible for generating 10k in the staked event and there was a clear agreement about the staked event. I think she should pay him and be a bit more grateful. Sure it's not a great deal for her but you can get IPO seats for 350 euros these days if you shop around. Shit deal doesn't make it no deal imo.

Didn't they travel up from London or something? Not sure you go without staking. But what if she does go to rail friends or play in a smaller tournament? Those things don't generate the 10k she won from the main event anyway, his stake did.
Also I think the ex deserves to be paid whether she still loves him or not. I mean he sounds like a swell guy. How many people could go to their ex for monies and expect to get a civil reply let alone the full buy-in.

People who have insecure exes hoping to get back with them?
