Title: Bluesquare.com Blackpool GUKPT: Day 1A - Interactive
Post by: NoflopsHomer on November 15, 2007, 03:53:58 AM
Like a rainstorm, there's a constant downpour, only for us, it's in the form of poker tournaments. From now until Christmas, there's pretty much a big event on every week. This time it's Waterford and Blackpool, next week will be the Midland Masters, after that it's the GUKPT Final at the Vic, followed by the Luton Xmas Cracker and then EPT Prague. Has poker reached a new peak at the moment? It certainly seems that way here in Blackpool. 190 players turned up for the £500 event which ended up being chopped 6 ways. There was also over a hundred for the £100 rebuy and a prizepool of over £30k, whilst even the £250 1 rebuy or add-on Omaha got 90 players tonight.

There's also a healthy amount of cash games going on too, which Maria managed a decent win in, though I must confess I much prefer online to live and not having to deal with any particularly lairy people that sometimes frequent these events. Luckily, our hotel is within walking distance, making the morning lie-ins that little bit longer. Our room actually consists of one single bed and one double bed, (guess who won the coinflip, sigh) but when entering the room both beds bizarrely had a little cuddly toy sat, quietly content, upon each. Maria got a little green frog with crazy eyes on hers, whereas I got a small pink pig - Snoops though would probably argue that it's fuschia.

Speaking of the beagle, he's over in Waterford playing the Blonde event there, where this weekend's other update comes from, thanks to Dana and Junglecat. Both competitions span the same time period, so we'll sort of be like....

In any case, with satellites running day and night, it's entirely possible this event will sell out completely, so please come and join us from 3pm and let us know who you'd like updates on and who you're supporting and we'll do everything we can to help out.

And fear not, because the updating team have amongst them, the sharpest minds in existence. For example here is Chili reading Tolstoy's classic War and Peace Robbie Fowler's Autobiography. Truly a masterpiece of it's time. A book by a footballer.

Chili must be slower than a snail on the Gladiators' travelator if she's still reading that book. Has she brought a new ruler too, she lost it in Dublin? And tell her to stop drooling over the pictures!  ;hide;

All the best mate.

The distance from the press room to the tournament area is a LONG way, like almost the Vic distance... It's very far.

Meanwhile here's the pink fuschia pig that I mentioned earlier. Bizarre, innit?

Yes, I am actually stalling since play doesn't look like it's going to start just yet. Maria has been down to the (empty) cardroom and there seems to be little or no activity just yet, though Jon Raab has informed me there's around 170 runners today.

Good Afternoon guys from Hazy Blackpool, I am actually here as you all know by now since Floppy has posted a picture of me busy in bed......When oh when will I work with a blogger that doesn't post pictures of me in marvelous ways??

The players have just sat down now and are ready to start precisely ontime, which is a refreshing change of course.  The only pictures I managed to grab so far are of the a lovely peaceful empty cardroom, which I must say is rather swanky and clean and fresh and sexy..

Behold the gorgeous new Blackpool Cardroom with its 200 capacity, nice and quiet.  Shame it has to be filled by brash pokerplayers hehe.

I'll keep an eye out for all requests so let me know now of anyone you want me to shadow all day.  There should be a full player list available to us, then you within the next 30 mins too.  I'm off into the card jungle to see some interesting plays early doors hopefully.

We are not hugely off the 200 capacity for the day at a whopping 174 players, the room really doesn't look like there are that many players in it.

Usual GUKPT Structure
10,000 starting chips
1 hour clock

and playing 9 levels today.

£500 chopper, Pete Linton plays his Aces cagily after seeing a Tc 6c 7s flop, he check/calls the 200 bet from Des Jonas on the flop and the 325 bet on the Td. Both check the Ks river and Pete's Aces are good against Des' Kc 8c.

Over on table 7, Stephen Bayliff raises David McCrone's 1,200 river bet on a 9h 2d 4h Qs 3c board to 3,200. At this early stage any sign of the purple 1k chips being thrown into the middle gets my attention pretty sharpish. McCrone relents though and passes, and any hope of action dissipates and I'm forced to resume my wanderings to pastures new.

On a Qd 6d Jd board, Rumit Somaiya check/raises Alan Davies' 600 bet to 2,500 but gets called. Rumit moves all-in on the 7h turn and Alan mucks his Ad Qh face up.

The very next hand Alan Davies raises again in the big blind. getting several callers including Julian Gardner.

The flop comes:

6h 3h 9h

Which is checked around.

Alan bets 600 on the Jh turn, the player in seat 8 makes it 1,600 and Julian Gardner flat-calls.

The river is the 4h, an effective blank. Seat 8 checks, and Gardner bets 2,500 to take the pot.

What are the odds of twins sitting together?

Lucy Rokach is OUT. Like the sun this morning, details are hazy but we've heard she turned a set against a flopped flush and got all her chips in and missed the river.

Like the sun this morning, details are hazy but we've heard she turned a set against a flopped flush and got all her chips in and missed the river.

Now there is a shock she always looks to double early. Such an aggressive player.

There's been a major disaster with the seating plan. Many of the players down as playing tomorrow like Thewy have their stacks on the tables and are down as playing today. So there's a load of confusion and I don't think we'll be getting a full seating plan for today, sorry.

Yes the details above are nearly correct about Lucy but just to elaborate a little, she was getting involved early messing about in various pots.  Her final hand saw her starting with only 2,500 chips, there had been a raise to 200 and about 5 limpers so Lucy shoved with pockets 8's.  She got one caller in Allan Mclean with  Ac  Qc.  The board came an annoying:

 2c 5c 9c 8c 7c

Which meant Lucy was out first in 175th (175 players not 174.)

Robert Boon has busted John Eames. The latter writhed around in utter agony when Boon moved in on the river of a Qc Td Qs Qd Kd board, as the pain increased, so did the crowd, flocking with each passing second. Eventually Eames called with Ad Ac, as Boon triumphantly turned over the Kh Kc for the rivered house.

News from the Raabmeister is that the buffet will be taken early, ie at the end of Level 2 in about 10 mins.  This means we SHALL be able to get that all important player list and chip counts whilst they are scoffing.

On the felt and dancing early is Sunny (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=423) Chattha (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=423) as all his chips were over the line as I waltzed past.  The action was a limp and a couple of callers and Sunny used this chance to raise it up from the button to 350.  It passed around to his limping neighbour who raised then to a total of 2,700.  Sunny grabbed this chance and pushed his 6,625 strong troops all in.  Matey boy gave it an all mighty dwell and then passed giving Sunny a much needed increased stack closer to his starting stack again.  Later investigation revealed Sunny was holding AJ, fearless that one......

Lol, awesome!! Though, a bit of a shame Pete and Dave are both sat together...

Also, I didn't even know I had a red shirt in the range lol :)

Incidentally... Pete (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=346) Singleton (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=346), Lucy (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=251) Rokach (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=251), Dan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=86) Carter (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=86) and myself all played the £1000 event at the Bristol Gala.

There was only 50 odd runners.. Pete, Lucy and Dan were all drawn on the same table.. After 4 hours or so, a player busted from their table, and the big blind from my table (me) had to move to join their table.

Playing 8-handed, myself and my team represented 50% of the table!! Obviously rumours were abound of collusion / soft-play etc... So, with 3 tables left, we asked the TD if they could split our table (table 2) before table 3, as things were getting a little silly... However, they declined and split table 3, meaning we had to carry on...

Darren and I got reprimanded by the bar tender, as she insisted that the menus were out on table for bar meals, I could not find them and told Darren so, but another lady joined in the conversation whom i took for another customer, no Menus she said, no i  said but they are somewhere here as the barlady said so, this other person then went away then returned with a menu and an apology. Next min.. the barlady came up with a pen and pad to take our order  and bollocked us for telling her MD, how the chuffing hell was we to know it was her boss. Needless to say we declined to order in-case we got added ingredients.  Happy days..

Do they have sit and go side games there or is it just cash?  I expect I'm a bit of a low flyer compared to most there, but if there's a sng on the go, I may pop down.

Yes sir, your roundheadness... *bows*

Rumit Somaiya is OUT. He lost a big pot to Julian Gardner holding two pair after Gardner manage to turn/river a flush. He then held top pair against a set for his last couple of thousand.

Nick Slade just paid off a 1,800 river bet to Bambos on a 3-5-4-K-J rainbow board. Bambos showed 7-6 for the flopped nuts whilst PI Slade flashed a King.

There has a little bit of carnage since the dinner break and we have gone from 141 to 115 players in Level 3.  We are now 15 minutes into Level 4 - 100/200.

Yes, coming in a sec.

Zafir Aslam has 18k and seemingly comfortable...

...Whilst Paul (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) Gourlay (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) is suffering a rollercoaster, arriving at his table with 14k, he dropped to 9k after he called a re-raise all-in with Jacks but allowed another player with Eights to also call and hit a set. Then he re-raised someone with Jacks 3 hands later only to run into Kings. This dropped him to 1.5k but he's just doubled up with Ahrt Aspades against 6h 6c.

Officially, there is actually only 154 runners today due to the mix-up in seating, but there's already 170 registered for tomorrow, so it will most likely make capacity.

Great timing Fran:

*********************BREAKING NEWS*******************************

There has been a Pete Linton major BLOW UP......When I arrived at his table he was sat all in for his last 1,500 chips shaking his chips.  When I probed how he had got into that unfortunate situation, the table found it quite hilarious, Greek Jack said "He played brilliant yesterday and awful today!"  Pete was not divulging what he had done and told me to just state:

PETE LINTON BLOW UP

His all in with 1,500 incidently resulted in a treble up for him with 33 against the Kings of Ben Vinson.  A lovely 3 on the turn for Pete and he has a few more chips to dance with.  I have instructed him to sit tight please, whilst I type up his latest misfortunes and again the table found this muchly amusing.  Pete's reputation is growing for his infamous to Notts players yoyo's...

hi update on c.k.le please, thanks

Here's your man Tones, he has around 10k at the moment and looks like he's enjoying himself next to Ryan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=390) Fronda (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=390).

Nick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=309) Slade (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=309) on the other hand is OUT. He called a bet on an Q-6-2 board with A-6 intending to take away the pot on the turn, when the turn was an offsuit 7, Nick decide to just call and make the move on the river as the 7 didn't seem to help his opponent. The river was another 6, and Nick just flat called a 3,200 bet from his opponent, only to discovered that he was up against 7-7. His last 3,000 went in with 9-6 on a 8-5-7-x (two spades) against Aspades 5s which rivered a flush.

Zafir Aslam is rivalling Greek Jack for the chip lead, he's up to around 35k after flopping a set of tens on a T-6-3, he silenced the Sid James-esque cackle of Jeff (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=795) Duvall (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=795) who had unluckily flopped trip 3's by making quads on the turn.

Incidentally, I've updated an earlier post here: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=28957.msg591976#msg591976 with photos of Zafir Aslam and Paul Gourlay. The wireless is working. Yay!

Jim Moult / bookiebasher is OUT.

Down to 6,000 he raised with   Ad 8d and had a caller in Barbara Gibson, the flop came:

 2d 3d 9h

Jim bet 1,500 and Babs reraised to 3,000.  Jim decided to push and Barbara called with a shock  Ac Kh.  No diamond or 8 came to save Jim and the lady wins with A, King kicker.

In Linton news, he doubles through to about 9,000 holding A K versus K Q all in preflop.

Matthew Stevens is OUT in a real...

moment.

He had Aces against Simon Rimmer's Aces... and got 4-flushed.

Julian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=224) Gardner (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=224) is another amongst the chip leaders, he just knocked EPT London finalist Paul Mendes (below) with Kh 7h vs Aspades Kd on a 7d 3h 2d Jd 6d board. All the money in on the flop.

Hiya Maureen,

The players are on a 15 min break at the minute and I like to take that chance to catch the players streaming out of the card room all simultaniously whinging and crying out their worst stories of the last 2 hours.

Jack's in fact was pretty unlucky.  He was sitting quite nicely on about 45,000 when he found K's.  There was a raise ahead of him already, so he repopped it.  Sadly Simon Rimmer was looking down at AA at the time and pushed for about 12,000 total.  The original raiser passed (JACKS) and Greek Jack didn't particulary like how the action went but said "how come you even know and you still call?"

So call he did and Jack down to circa 30,000.  Still a good stack though and more than playable for Jack.

Sam Trickett has a little less to smile about as just before the break he took a bit of a hit from Sunny (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=423) Chattha (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=423).  In a pot that should have had Sunny out and Sam on 45,000 instead leaves the Retford lad on 17,000 instead.

On a flop of

 9s Ts Js

Sam holding  Kh  Qd for the nut straight leads out with a bet, Sunny reraised and Sam went all in.  Sunny showed  9h Td for the two pair which Sunny joyfully rivered a 10 for the house and a lifeline in this tournament.

C K Le has just been involved in a all-in preflop battle with the Qc Qs against David McCrone's Ac Kh

Board:

3c 3h Tc Ks Qh

Le up to about 12k, McCrone now short.

Chris Bruce has also doubled up, checking his Jacks on a J-T-7-4-K board twice to get Nicholas Risdale to pay him off, which he duly did with a turned set of Fours.

On a 8c 2d Ts Jd board, Mickey Wernick raises Maurice McCarthy's 1,050 bet to 4,000. The Worm's rock solid reputation serves him well and he gets a fold from the opponent.

Pete Linton gets a cheeky double up with 8c 7d against Des Jonas' Aspades Kc, the board coming Jh 5s Jc 2h 7h.

Matt Myford has been crippled by Keith Littlewood, his Kings coming unstuck by Ace Ten which hit one on the flop and another on the turn.

Paul Gourlay is OUT and 'off for the long drive home' after his A-T was no good in a limped pot, the board was A-7-6 with two suits, and Paul pushed but was called by 6-5 which had a pair and a flush draw. The latter missed the flush but hit his 2nd pair and the Geordie/Leeds lad is off back home.

I recieved a lesson today in not judging a book by its cover.  I was talking to a lady earlier who was sat next to Chris Bruce.  She told me that she was just a pensioner who had saved up all year to play this event.  So instantly you feel "aahhh" what a lovely story, but this lady is no shrinking pensioner.  She is in a out of pots like no ones business, she was the lady that knocked out Jim Moult with AK on an 9 high board (not a lady called Barbara - sorry).  Apparantly she plays here in Blackpool about 4 times a week, all tournaments.

As I go past I see Joan calling a 10,000 all in from Michael Denton, to be fair it was a no brainer as she was holding the pocket rockets and Michael had Queens.  This pot put Joan "The Nutcracker" Lawley on over 40,000 chips and having a whale of a time.

Sorry, I got the wrong Jeff who was knocked out, it was Jeff (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=194) Burke (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=194), Jeff (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=795) Duvall (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=795) was still in last time I checked. Apologies.

One player who has gone is Pete (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=348) Linton (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=348), K-2 against A-Q.

CK (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=75) Le (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=75), has built on his double up and is around 24k now.

Simon Rimmer and Burnley John were just involved in a...

;bp;

10k in the pot, Rimmer bet 10k on the turn of a Qd Kc 2c 6d board and after much sighing and a general body language that says, "I know I'm behind but I really don't want to fold..." Burnley did though, and mucked his Aspades Qs.

This pot came hot on the heels of Greek Jack betting a seemingly weak bet of 1,500 into a 5k pot on a Ac Kd 8c 9d which Martino (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=652) Libertini (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=652) bumped up to a slightly suspicious 4,500. Greek Jack passed, claiming he had two pair and Martino showed 9c 9h.

He just doubled up with Kc 8c on a K-8-x-A-x board vs A-Q getting it all by the river. I think he has around 10k, though I'll check after the 15 minute break we've just gone on.

We have lost Blue Square qualifyer Wai Yeun who was all in with  Ad Qh against Paul Gardner's  Js Jh, no help for Yeun in fact Paul made a straight with his J's.

John Bousfield put in his last 2,700 with  Jh Qc called by the  Ad Jd of Paul Gardner.  This time Gardner's hand did not stand and Bousfield made a straight with his Queen putting him upto 5,700.

Paul Gardner
(http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=4511&g2_serialNumber=1)

The very next hand Bousfield raises from UTG to 1,300, Matt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1226) Myford (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1226) next to him who was dented earlier with Kings against A10, pushed all in for another 4,000.  Bousfield made the call, on their backs:

Myford  Ac Kd
Bousfield   Qh Qs

First card out was a Queen and that's all she wrote for Bad Beat's Matt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1226) Myford (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1226).

*** BREAKING NEWS ***

Dave (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95) Colclough (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95) stole my notebad, me thinking he was gonna write down his room number, Instead did a mini self update.  All in preflop with AA v 33, he lost 11k in that pot and is currently on 17,000.  He said he is now "steaming" and gonna raise every pot!!!!

He still looks joyous though (on closer inspection "joyous" turns into maniacal).

Iwan Jones has increased his stack to roughly 30k now, having just knocked out Harpit Singh with Jacks vs A-8 on an 8-7-6 board.

Andrew Bradshaw has knocked out David McCrone with Kings against Eights while the rather loud Stephen Bayliff has busted Reyaaz Mulla with Ace King against Ace Queen.

Also I saw Alan Mcclean limp re-raise to take down a pot, which got me thinking, that surely this has become a slightly overrated move that everyone is wary of these days. That is unless, you're prepared to also limp UTG with many other hands that you're going to fold to a raise, or limp re-raise with non-premium hands when super deep. Surely your hand becomes better disguised with a standard raise? Any opinions on this?

Mickey Wernick just took a healthy pot from Martyn Cavanagh calling a 2,200 bet on a 5c Kh 5h board before they checked the Qc turn and 6d river. Martyn had missed with Ahrt 8h whilst Mickey showed Ks Qs, too cautiously played on the turn perhaps?

Ray Harman is OUT.

I Yusuf -- 45k

Still in the middling 30,000's at the moment, I just him button raise but the problem is that another big stack, that of Julian Gardner's, is now in the big blind. Julian re-raised for another 3.5k which took it down, but you can see these two could well play a big pot before the end of the night.

I just much strangeness & huge hand just now.  I arrived once the flop had been dealt and there was much confusion and many spectators.  The hand began with Andrew Bradshaw raising to 1,200 and being flat called after a dwell by Paul Murphy.  The flop dealt was

 7c 4c 8s

Paul checked and Andy bet 2,000.  Paul Murphy thought long and hard before announcing ALL IN.  Action on Paul now who has a decision to make with 16,000 left behind.  In the meantime, before Bradshaw made a decision, the dealer dealt out the turn card ( 6c).  There was an uproar because of course Bradshaw never announced anything..  Red cheeked stuff for the dealer now, as the TD had to come over for a decision on what next!

The TD annouced that the turn card had to be discarded and a new one retrieved from the deck, third card from bottom if Andy decided to make the all in call.  Andy paraded around the table, a few "ffs" later and Andy goes "Here then, have it, I call!" and pushes his chips over the line:

Andy Bradshaw   Ts Th
Paul Murphy   Jc Jd

A lot of oooo's and rrrrrrr's from the crowd and more "ffs" from Andy Bradshaw and then even more madness.  The dealer deals out another burn card and

Kh and then another burn and  Jh....

Uproar again as the dealer NEVER took the third card from the bottom!!!!!!!  Now TD has to step into action to physically discard the last 2 cards and actually take the cards that should have been the turn and river.  Grrrrrrrrrr for Andy who has since left and is 3 tables away grumbling to himself.  Anyhow the second set of cards were a Q and a 9 and Andy's 10's still didn't win...

After the 9 last card Andy actually came back and said

"Did I win that time?  Can I have a third go?"

rotflmfao rotflmfao  Sorry I shouldn't laugh but at least Andy knowing he made the wrong call with the 10's did at least make light of it afterwards.  Poor Paul Murphy was just sat through the hand a little shell shocked by events.  It has resulted in him having the current chip lead and 65,000 chips.

Paul Murphy

Paul Murphy

LOL @ this whole hand. Unusual as the GUKPT dealers are normally pretty good.

From a strategy prespective, anyone think this hand is played a teeny tiny bit badly from both players? Obviously its in isolation from reading this update but wow.

I think we are coming into the "home or double up" time and we have lost Chris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) Bruce (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65).  With 11.5k  he pushed with  Ad 4h in mid position and was called by the  9h 9d of Iwan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=180) Jones (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=180).  The nines stood up and no more finals for Chris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) Bruce (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) this time, he will have to do it in the Grand Final instead.

Sam Trickett is also OUT another low stack and pushed with  Ahrt 7c but ran into pockets Jacks.

Martyn (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=270) Cavanagh (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=270) says "Hi" to Sofa-king and is doing good on 36,000

There are currently 60 players left and we heading towards the last hour of the evening and Level 9.

How are the twins doing?

Pete Singleton is OUT. He 3-bet all-in on a Qd 9x Xd board with 9d 8d against I Yusuf who had Jacks.

Dave has roughly 15k, he lost a 36k pot to Iwan Jones on an A-3-7 board, Iwan had been holding A-7 when Dave made a move with 5-4 and missed. To quote the blonde one, "Oops."

Joe Grech is OUT. Rob Sherwood made a call against his push and found his Aspades 4c surprisingly ahead of Joe's Kh Js which was the way it stayed.

Raj Modha has doubled through Marcus Bebb-Jones.

Raj had raised preflop and then bet 1,500 on a 6h Ts 6c board. Marcus c/raised to 4,500 and Raj flat-called with around 8k behind.

Marcus set him in the on the Jc with Tc 8c and Raj quickly called with Ad 6d. No Ten on the river and the Laddies Million Winner doubles through the Grosvenor Grand Prix Winner.

Chris Bruce is OUT, A-4 vs 9-9.

Sunny Chattha is MIA.

Matthew John has doubled through Paul Gardner (different one to the one in the Gala Bristol) with Sevens versus Eights.

Paul Murphy looks to be our current chip leader, his latest victim being Neil Jones who pushed all-in on a 2s 7d Qs board, Murphy made the call with Aspades Js expecting to have to hit, but Jones held only King Ten and couldn't spike.

El Blondie moved in over the top of Simon Rimmer's early position raise to 2,100, for a grand total of 11,400 which scared the Aces magnet away, (I've seen him have Aces at least 5 times today).

On a 9h 3c 4h 7h 2d board there looked to be 40k pot between Kuljinder Sidhu and another player who has lost his number card so we can't identify him grrrrr. Anyway, you'd think for a pot this size and all-in on the flop, you'd expect to see big hands right? Nope, Sidhu held 8h 8s and the other player was raking in the chips after showing Th 9d.

On the next table, Ray Wyre raises to 2,500. Paul Parker and I Yusuf call and Ryan Fronda dwells up. Paul gets out of his seat and tries to get Ryan to move all-in. Ryan decides to just flat-call. Upset by a lack of a push Paul jokingly announces that he's going to collaborate with the other two knock out Ryan.

Flop:

Qs 4c 2c

Checked around.

Turn:

2d

Checked to Paul Parker who bets 5k, everyone passes and Paul shows Tens. Ryan is mock-disgusted by an attempt to get to make a squeeze play with a worse hand...

Stephen Bayliff is now OUT after trying to get rid of his very short stack for a while now.  He was all in with  8d 9h but came up against another all in of Paul John Wilson with   Ac Qs and a call from Adam Clark with  9s 9d.  The board was Q 3 J 4 K and Paul Wilson was just about tripled up.

Kuljinder Sidhu was seen all in on a 7 high board with 4's but was up against the Jacks of Simon Rimmer and so is now OUT.

Rob Garfield has also not made it at the eleventh hour, he gambled to try and pick up some much needed chips by betting out the flop & turn with nothing but unlucky for Rob his N Mcllelan was holding 2 pairs and insta called Rob's all in on the turn.  Rob had a few outs in that any club for a four flush win but it never materialised and he is gone.

Is the fork about to come out? I'm struggling to stay awake lol, but want to make sure DC has made it through to day 2 before I call it a night.

Good luck to the 'other' DC tomorrow too :)

Hehe, yes Matt, DC Senior made it through the day because play has just ended for the night.  DC Junior is living it up in the lively cash table as we speak.

Just before the end, Greek Jack double upto about 50,000 through Dave Mayall.  Jack's big blind was raised by Dave and Jack decided his 6's were the time to push and Dave Mayall called with  Ad Kh.  Jacks 6's held and he is through with an above average stack.

There are around 51 players left (give or take a couple not updated) and an average 29,800.  So that's a wrap up from me for tonight, Floppy is still down getting some last minute hands and stories hopefully.  There will be a full player and chip count list at some point during the early hours so we will post it up when we get it.

Thanks peeps for reading and peeping.

Be back tomorrow at 3pm for Groundhog day 1B and close to 200 fresh new players (that's if they manage to get an early night tonight that is).

FORK & STICK XX

Yeah we're all finished here, on the last hand of the night though Ryan Fronda got all-in with Jacks against Ray Wyre's Aspades Ts and flop Quads reducing Wyre to around 1.5k for Saturday.

Other than the crazy cash games still going on. £5/£5 with a £10/£20/£40 straddle...We'd report from them but we're too tired...
