Last night at my local casino played the good old 5 re-buy normally i play a proper solid game and do quiet well.

But not last night, I had my AA cracked by 5s8s after i raised the pot pre-flop,(more chips please), AKs raised pot again preflop hit two pair on flop guy goes all in i go with him, his got jd7s he then hits q 10 nice stright?(more chips please), this happened a total of 8 times(KK, JJ AdJd, AA, trips,). Now this is no badbeat story. The problem is i had a total of 10 re-buys a bit more then average by my standards.

The thing is i now realised how far my game as come along that i never went on tilt and kept my control to play solid poker.

Just like to know what your guys do when faced with a table like this and how you keep your cool and stop yourself from getting envolved?

say "nice hand sir" every time and smile, pop a tune on/have a drink/a chat/think of England etc

forget the pin number of your cashpoint card, even better leave said card at home. Avoid the magic roundabout.  Smiley

my record is 17 rebuys, once getting 8 callers with AA after two re-raises  Shocked

sounds like you are taking things philosophically tho'  Roll Eyes

you are bound to have monster chips the next time you hit that run of hands....think positive

just remember in a rebuy, if you have AA  and the whole table calls(8 other players), you only have 33% chance of winning so dont beat yourself up when 55 hits its set

golferscrote, we seem to have got off on the wrong foot!!

Yes I realised my AA was struggling but, amazingly and after long thought, I failed to lay down AA pre flop in a rebuy period in a small comp.

oh no, early or mid stages of a rebuy tourney when the rebuys are still available i wouldnt hesitate sticking it allin with AA, thats how you win those tourneys, however, if you have a reasonable amount of chips towards the end of the rebuy period it is pointless going allin against say 4 or more opponents because it is too likely that you could go out at a crucial time of the tourney

The 5 rebuys do my head in.

In hanley there was always two greasy gangster types who would re buy then go all in over and over again until they eventually trebled or quadrupled through. This is not poker in my opinion but i sat quietly as i wouldn't fancy an altercation. They were always nasty about it and would try to intimidate you when you beat them acting like it was your fault that it was costing them 5 every 5 mins. One of them did get seriously aggressive one time as he declared all in blind and the guy next to me had KK called and was shown AA, he made a comment about the 'all in blind' quote and they were at it in a flash.

The best i have ever seen was a greek guy who was always pissed and a terrible loser. On losing a big hand he slung the rest of his chips at the guy who had taken down the pot and one of them went straight in the guys mouth and hit the back of his throat starting a big choking episode, brilliant entertainment.
