Panos Panayi raises to 80k UTG. David Mundle bumps it up to 230k from two streets down, Panayi shakes his head and mucks
face up.
Next hand, Paul Gourlay raises to 75k and get the blinds and antes, showing A-Q.
Still cagey, I manage to see one hand where Panayi limps the small blind and Paul Gourlay checks.
Panayi has checked dark. Gourlay checks behind
Panayi bets 50k, call.
Check check. Gourlay shows a pair of tens. Intriguing.

No flops that I've seen for last 15 mins... not to say no action, just few faces of cards. Sandeep Shah has lost a couple of pots raising preflop and getting pushed off, although judging from the amount of time he dwelled over folding
having bet 75k and got Pete Charalambous shoving pre for 540k, he doesn't like laying them hands down too much. "Was that all?" asked Charalambous, implying that his reraising range must be of such rarified quality that such consideration is unnecessary...
Other action includes short-stack John Stritch moving in preflop a couple of times; no interest from the other players in taking him on.

Paul Gourlay raises to 70k. Sandeep Shah calls in the small blind.
Check, check.
Shah bets 85k. Gourlay folds and Shah claims he had a, "Massive hand."
Shah takes the blinds in the next hand as well.
John Strick wakes up suddenly and goes all-in, everyone folds, including a few people on the final of the £150 since Strick hasn't played a hand in that long.
Paul Gourlay and David Mundle check a 4-2-6-T-5 board down to the river in a blind vs blind battle. Gourlay's J-4 off wins. It's really all a bit anti-climatic.

Action!
David Mundle had picked up a couple of rounds of blinds with a raise pre to 70k, but the last time he tried it he found neighbour Ian Gascoigne moving all in pretty much instantly over the top. While starting to consider his options, big blind Pete Charalambous announced, "Call." Much to the table's surprise, a hand was going to showdown!
Mundle passed, leaving the two of them heads up, Gascoigne covered.
Charalambous:
Gascoigne:
Flop:
Turn:
River:
And that rockets Gascoigne up to over 600k, definitely as high chipwise as he's been all tournament, the rivered flush sending Charalambous all the way back down. A bit like snakes and ladders at the moment.

Ian Gascoigne looks to raise to 75k, but then he doesn't. He looks at the clock. And then his stack. And decides to just push all 600k or so in the middle. The folding is faster than at an advanced origami class and he wins the blinds and antes.
Pete Charalalalalamobus moves all-in and David Mundle somehow takes pity on him, folding his big blind despite getting good odds.
Paul
Gourlay
raises to 75k on the button and Mundle and Gascoigne call from the blinds.
Check to Gourlay who bets 125k. Two folds ship a 200k+ pot over to the Rocket Man.

Strange hand reconfirms Sandeep Shah as CL, King of Bink...
Sandeep Shah raises on the button to 80k. Big blind Panos Panayi then repops him a further 160k. A longer think than usual, and Shah makes the call.
Flop:
Both players check.
Turn:
Again, two checks.
River:
Panayi quickly bets 200k, instantly called by Shah holding
. The earlier checking proved his undoing as Panayi's
sail into the muck.
Shah - back on top.

Well, it had worked so far, but this utg shove of John Stritch was instantly reshoved-over by neighbour Sandeep Shah. Most definitely outchipped, he flipped his hand revealing
and hoped he was live...
...which he was - Shah held
.
Flop:
Turn:
bringing the spectre of yet another spade flush up to give Stritch some hope
River:
So we lose
John Stritch
in
6th
place, winning
£4,434
I snapped him as he exited, but thought I'd try to get a better, more vibrant shot, possibly with a grin or a thumbs-up or something. Well, nearly.

I nearly forgot - just in case the discussions now underway result in play being somewhat curtailed, I said I'd pass on a message earlier and totally failed. Here you go now, though:
