Don't panic.

I was having a leisurely chat with Chippyman in Nandos, comparing the merits of different foods. Chinese or Fish?

Let's go ladies.. Who's going to take this one down? I would have loved to play this myself but the fact I was already booked to work it pre-empted any attempt to win chips.

Been talking to Simon Trumper and he's definitely going to run this comp again, but with a few little tweaks to make sure it's even bigger and better.

Blinds start at 100/200. Golden chips must be displayed on the table at all times, and the last man standing displaying his Golden Chip wins a Carribean Poker package courtesy of DTD Poker, for nothing, nada, gratis. Can't argue with that can you!

220 players will start today and play through ten levels, how many will come back tomorrow? Will today's chip daddys be reduced to cry babies by closing time or will they keep their super stacks and take it down?

Cards are in the air, let's do this.

Afraid we can't get access to a seat draw, but should be able to find your seat easily enough on arrival.
I've spotted Wadey and Julian Thew drawn sat next to one another, as well as Vinodh, Liam Batey and Stuart Kinghorn on a table together.

Managed to get an elimination
at 100/200, 40k managed to go in on a  Jh 3s Qd 8c
Ruben Francis at risk with   Jd 8d
Andrew Macleod has  Th 9d
River bricks, Francis out

Sadly we don't have an elimination list, all we have is little name tags for the players on tables, so when they go we are hoping they leave them at the tables for us to work out who eliminated who

Unusually for DTD there is no seat draw up on site.

This may be something to do with anonymity, or maybe the system can't deal with the change in starting blinds is Jon's theory.

Obviously, unless we know a player's name it is going to be very hard to track guys down, so do me a favour and text your mates who are playing and ask them to either give me a wave, or a slap on the ass as I pass by. Jon says he'd prefer a wave only if it's all the same to them.

I'm off to take some pics.

Steve Holden is here, off to a good start in an early hand vs Ian Hughes.

Ian raises UTG and gets 4 callers, which seems to be pretty standard so far today.

Flop of 7 9 4 rainbow and Ian bets out 2k which loses just one limper.

Turn is a ten and Ian valiantly gives it anoter go with a 5K bet this time.

Steve Holden repops him up to 12K, Daniel Bedson sigh folds pocker Queens and Ian flat calls.

The river is a King and Ian checks to Steve who bets out 17K.

Ian asks Steve if he's got there, and Stede says I take it you're not callin then.

"Do you want me to call" he asks and Steve tells him he can do what he likes "dude"

Ian the Dude opts to fold, showing pocket eights.

Steve mucks and takes the pot.

Derek "Cav" well known player from Blackpool: well known for his legendary drinking skills followed by an unbeatable ability to outdraw any hand on the river.

Note pint of Guiness on side table, it's his weapon of choice.

Followed by hollowed out biros used to shoot poison darts.

Judging by your positive question, you'll be gutted to know DTD hasn't screwed up.

Sorry.

Chips stacks are pretty well distributed and everyone has plenty of small denomination chips. Simon is currently in the office pressing off a few more in case of emergency. He never sleeps.

FIGHT!!

Well not yet.. but if any seating arrangements change you never know!

Pete Wrigglesworth, he of the Facebook status updates from hell, is asking everyone who XXX69 is.

When Pete's been playing the online CL games his adversary XXX69 has chosen to use the medium of keyboard warrior to attack.

Pete says XXX69 MUST know him he reckons "because one of things he called me was a bald *****"

He may have just took a lucky stab at the bald bit Pete, to be fair.

So how have they done the chips? has everyone with big stacks got a decent amount of the lower end one's or have they screwed up and put about four billion 5k's onto the tables?

Judging by your positive question, you'll be gutted to know DTD hasn't screwed up.

Sorry.

Chips stacks are pretty well distributed and everyone has plenty of small denomination chips. Simon is currently in the office pressing off a few more in case of emergency. He never sleeps.

You'd be surprised (i probably worded it wrong tbf), im happy theyve got it right :D feel sorry for them with the overlay in fairness the idea's smashing just needs fine tuning :), so id imagine the 200k stacks actually look pretty sweet :D

Simon's sorted out the tweaks for next timeI don't want to steal his thunder and tell you his plans but will definitely work even better next time.

Good good :), hopefully he's made changes to the qualifying system as well, it sucks when towards the end it becomes pointless due to the high blinds and massive competition, although that said if a 15k starting wins this it'll be hilarious!

Apparently there's a few already in. Surely with a gtd prize pool of 7.5K it would be worth playing more if there were no other runners?

There's no online buy in for this so obviously people are just rolling up now to enter and I would imagine players from the chip leader comp will also join in they are eliminated. So doesn't look like Mitch will be on cash anytime soon.

Julian tries to lose his nice guy image with an attempt at an evil Muhaahaa, but it comes out too quietly and the player next to him says "Gesundeit", thinking he sneezed.

He is on 660K, pretty much where he started. The other guys on his table say he literally hasn't played a hand. He was going to skip today and just come in tomorrow but his landlady is chasing him for his rent so he decided he was better off dodging her in here. Allegedly.

He is on 660K, pretty much where he started. The other guys on his table say he literally hasn't played a hand. He was going to skip today and just come in tomorrow but his landlady is chasing him for his rent so he decided he was better off dodging her in here. Allegedly.

Dodging the rent but slaps down 1.5k for this.... #Priorities

First encountered "Bigal" online when I rubbed him down so badly he threatened to beat me up at Manchester GUKPT.

Luckily dewiJ intervened and told him how big I was and we've got on great ever since.

I'm pretty gullible.

Matt told me we were on a break just because he had got another pint and I actually took it as gospel. Just looked round to check the clock and see we still have 30 minutes left at this level.

Players really on a break now. Matt Russell at the bar again.

Rob Day having a nightmare of a game. A player raised UTG with Kd 10h to see a flop of 824 with two hearts. Rob had the 8 and bet it, the OR calls. Turn is another 8he 8h,  Rob bets it again and the guy calls again.

River is  a low heart giving Rob's adversary a 10 high flush, obviously beating Rob's trip eights. Rob asked him why he called and he replied with that golden line

"I didn't think you had anything"

Good read.

Ha ha I take requests. Where is he?

Be warned though, it may be unlucky.

I just asked Waz where he was seated and he told me table 42/3

Off I wander as I walk up from 42/7 I hear the dealer shout "Seat open Table 42/3"

So Waz's chip count is - I'm taking an educated guess - zero. However, he's just had a text telling him won the raffle at today's fete so all is not lost.

Alan Armitage raises preflop and gets a caller in the big blind from John Picken.

Flop 10d Jd 4d and John bets out only to eventually dwell fold after a big big raise from Big Al. John showed the Ad.

Paul Brown and Liam Batey get in a hand together, possibly the first hand Paul has played in six hours.

Paul limps in UTG and flat calls a raise from Liam Batey to 1600 (Blinds 300/600)

Flop is 3s 6s Ah.

Paul checks and Liam does an apparent C bet of 4K.

Paul sits for a few minutes and then makes it 8600. Liam doesn't bat an eyelid and pops it up again to 17K.

Paul folds, saying he should have got it all in pre after Liam raised before the flop.

Milidonk grinding the slowest grind ever, scraping up about 1k every level. Currently on 28K.

Girgy on 57,700K.

Frankie having a fun time on 150K.

Peter Craw on 66K, modeling a natty black jacket declaring "WSOP" as a logo. No idea if he played the main event or simply won the coat on Ebay, but a win's a win.

Craig Edwards makes it 1800 UTG +1, and Kevin Corcoran makes it 4K to see a flop, sat next to him.

Craig elects to indeed see a flop and the dealer obliges with [7c] [5c] [jc]

Craig check calls a bet from Kevin and the turn is then the [4c] whic is checked by both players.

River comes another four [4] and both players check again.

Craig turns over [ah] [qc] but it isn't enough, Kevin has the second nut flush wit [kc] [9c] in his hand.

Wadey is indeed a man on a mission!

He's just had a double up, taking him to 250K now.

Wadey raised with the mighty 10 J and gets a caller from Matthew Moore.

Flop is a nice top two pair for Wadey - 10 J 5

Matthew Moore seems to like it as well and calls a bet from Wadey.

Turn is a six.

Wadey bets out again for Matthew to announce allin for 300K!

Wadey snaps him off and Matthew happily turns over his hand to show what he assumes is the winning hand with 10 6, but his glee turns to ghee as Wadey scoops the pot with 10 J for the better two pair.

Gary Colclough - Rotty - is berating another player

"I'd love to know your thought process when you called on the flop?!"

Apparently he raised pre with AK, loved the flop of A 2 4, but clearly so did his opponent who called a chunky bet holding pocket threes, obviously forgetting an open ended draw needs to be able to hit at either end to qualify.

Fortune favours the brave, but fate loves the foolhardy and sure enough, he binks his five on the turn to catch his straight. Just to make matters worse, Rotty picks up trip aces on the river but manages to keep his loss to 31K in total.

Ten minutes later and I can still hear him asking why!

Ollie Allen flat calls a raise in mid position, two others in the pot.

Flop of [Ah] [7s] [Qs]

Original raiser checks and Ollie bets out 5K, small blind folds and the OR looks at Ollie's (small) stack and calls.

Turn is the [8h] and Ollie again bets, 8K this time and the OR check raises to 20K.

Quicker than Barry Neville chasing a dropped ten pound note in the wind, Ollie gets his remaining chips in and the OR makes a sigh call as the all in is less than his check raise.

OR is drawing dead with [As] [J] as Ollie Allen has pocket rockets, turn is a brick and his top set hold.

Pretty disappointed in Russell he said one pint per level .....just been informed he has missed one wtf if I knew this I would of joined ...lightweight!

He's just tanked for on a really scary board and then bet 40K into the pot to take it down. His opponent said

"After all that Hollywood I know you must have it"

Matt shows 4 2 off.

Cue another pint.

Lee.. your ration of winning hands vs Lynne is currently 1:29.

In HER  favour.

When she raises/calls - fold. That's the only advice I can give you mate.

James King 212K, from a start stack of 85K. Steve Holden on 400K. Greek Jack is quietly counting his 480K stack after making a river call with pocket Queens.

His oppo raised pre, then bet a flop of [6s][As] [2h], Jack called.

Turn brought the flush in the form of the [Ks] both players checked, for the OR to bet the [5d] river.

Jack made the call and his Queens were plenty to beat the other guy's pocket sevens.

Jack looks at him and says you know why I called, I called because you checked, you check and I know you have nothing.

I seem to type that sentence every update I ever do where Greek jack is playing.

Onto Level 12. I thought the end was nigh but forgot we actually started on level 2.

However the TD has just announced we are playing 14 levels in total so it's not too bad.

Blinds now 1K/2K ante 300. 111 players remain from 220 but I think we will lose a lot more in this level, ave stack is 163,684 but obviously that's affected by the few monster stacks, so at the other end of the scale, there are plenty of shorties ready to shove.

Ah. I've been oping no one would ask this today. I have bad news.

I'm not sure whether they've had a cull or whether some have been sacked but the valets are distinctly, mm how can I put this politely, they are distinctly average.

I have to disagree on 2 of them

He's easy Caroline, so don't take any notice.

Also, if Frankie gives you any hassle, just threaten to send for me.  From what I'm told, it's the only time people have ever seen him go quiet.

Players going on a break.

My predication wasn't as accurate as I hoped for! We lost nine players in the last level.

How many do you think will be left when we finish tonight?

Simon Trumper now on 226K, despite his nickname he isn't just waiting for Aces, he managed to find a call against Dan Belson when he made a move with his 9 7 off.

I've got the Hopkins & Russell comedy tag team here. Both of them are rat arsed discussing the merits of Go West vs Go West. Apparently no other bands come close.

There's a long pause while both of them stare off into space for a minute, reminiscing about the 90s.

Stu Hopkins - who the more he drinks the more his cheeks turn into rosy red Chucky doll cheeks - says in a really quiet, poignant voice:

"I have a Go west CD in my car. When I play it, it makes me feel really happy..."

Matt has drunk 11 pints at least and I'll give him his due, he's still walking in a straight line and talking. Talking utter bollox but still intelligible bollox.

It's all happening on MY table.

Booder's come over to tell me about losing a 200K pot (half his stack) when his set was smashed by a higher set on the river. However there's more at stake here.

Hopkins and Russell have had a bet, they're both all in. Matt claims he will marry his current squeeze.

Hopkins is betting Matt will ever actually see her again.

My money is backing Stu Hopkins, as Matt's missus is currently in London with Matt's credit card. GG.

Just given Mitch an inspiratational pep talk. He's been nursing 54K for about 4 levels and I helpfully pointed out he's not the shortest stack. To keep him grounded I pointed out he can also go down, as well as up, which he seemed really grateful for. i think I even saw a little tear of gratitude in his eye.

Paul Brown has just moved tables. As he sat down and started unracking his still immense stack of chips. Mark James on his table says "Been busy mate?" Nope replies Paul, I just lost 400K.

I'm not sure Mark believes him, think he thinks he's being rubbed down.

Burghardt makes it 5k, Alan Armitage calls.
Trumper to 22k, Burghardt folds, with no hesitation Armitage rejams for 82k
"you want a call" asks Simon "definitely. 100%"
Simon folds, Armitage shows  Jc Tc
"I knew I was always getting you off it"

i might been hungover all day but i dont think that was me,

Where are the valet pics plz

Ah. I've been oping no one would ask this today. I have bad news.

I'm not sure whether they've had a cull or whether some have been sacked but the valets are distinctly, mm how can I put this politely, they are distinctly average.

I have to disagree on 2 of them
ditto...I think Miss Cove needs to go Specsavers...

Actually it was 72..I would say I owe him one as I was the opponent but he's gone now,, ;D

Tim Wright makes it 8k, called by a player.
James Robert Turner to 47k which I thought was unusually large, rejams from Wright putting him all in for 130k.
The middle man got out the way "uh what a horrible misclick" says Turner
after putting 1/3 of his stack in feels he has to call
Turner -  Ad Qs
Wright -  Ac Ks
AK holds, Turner out
i went home playing that tho my head and shoud have snap folded still had about 25 bigs what a mess up i was gutted when i thought a bit more about the plays before i hadd prev with him i was only playing top 20%
