I cant seem to install messenger on my PC.

It gets to a certain point of install and says it cant complete the installation

any ideas?

yeah you have to close everything down, try task manager and see what's running.

Yes, guess so.  Such a short-term view though.  It's the geeky, early-adopters who try out these programs, and if they like them they tell their friends and so on.  It's these first users who will be most upset by what is essentially malware, and then aren't likely to recommend it to anyone.

Yes, maybe hard for them to get paid otherwise, in a crowded marketplace.

I'll normally start my search in softpedia, to avoid malware/adware/spyware.  No way I'm just downloading based on a google search.
