I see Fran viewing the thread, so for her
Tony Phillips has drawn a tough corner of his talbe, to the right of Surinder Sunar and Sunny Chattha
Style wise, Tony seems to have adopted the approach I saw a lot from Neil Channing in these sorts of events...frequently raises to 125 pre-flop in level one..and soon that becomes like a limp, building pots for when he hits hands

First sight of a photograph-able dealer (I would have photographed male dealers too, but trust my judgement on this) this event!

James Browning behind Syed Zaidi
Mr Zaidi seems to have come straight from his day job as a Snooker referee. If not that his gloves are for hygiene purposes, slightly offset by the Biro pen he is chewing

Toby Lewis. I was mightily impressed by Toby at Manchester. Great game and a thoroughly nice guy too. Signed up to blonde as 810 of clubs, now a BBP grader and destined to go places IMHO. Appallling hoodie though with a cartoon character on the front. If I could hold a camera still you'd see that

Assorted snippets
Jon Kalmar is down to 2,000, the beneficiary appearing to be his neighbour Finn Stewart sitting on a 20,000 stack
James Browning has recovered to 12,000. Tels me he had nut hearts in that big pot earlier
Also on the Phillips/Chatta/Sunar table is London GUKPT winner Martin Silke
Allan MacLean has won a big pot off Mark Lowe, now short-stacked and Chris Dowling who went with him, after a pre-flop raise was called in four places on a
flop. MacLean's 3,000 turn bet took it down after the
came down
JJ Hazan of Gutshot fame bet 1,500 after the river on a
board. Chris Wood makes it 3,500 and JJ eventually gives up
Steve Kirk gave me a look as I walked past as if to say "don't ask", so I didn't.

Gary Banks has been in action, surprise surprise
He raised to 350 in early position and picked up a caller on the button with William Haughey..playing today after all.
flop
and the the young one checked to the ex Celtic director who bet 600, called
the
was checked by both, as was the
river
Banks turns over
beating Haughey's
