Of course Pub games aren't the same poker. If you've invested over £700 and 4 days of your time to play in a tournament it is about the money. Period. Lose sight of that and you're not going to be as successful a player long term as you should be. It's your money that went in - not DTD or PS - it doesn't matter - you have to maximise your return at that point.
You can leave some money in the pot after the deal so there's still a winner and someone gets the glory of winning - but I'd rather have the cash thanks.

Poker isn't about the glory - or how you stand up to pee - it's about the MONEY - and if you refuse the chance to take second place money with 6 left and pretty even stacks you're a fool who doesn't know how to play the odds - ask Nick if he'd rather have £55k more
I disagree Poker is not all about the money for a lot of people its about the winning also the prestige that goes with winning a tournement like this. Obviously this is a lot of money i imagine for most of the players left in i know it would be for me. Blatant I win down the pub brag When i sit down in my local pub game for a fiver to win £25 is it about the money then or is it about the winning and bragging rights? If its about the money its defo not a +ev game to play as i always end up getting a round afterwords that costs more then £25!

Break before Heads Up
Ahmed 16m plays 8m and I would say a huge favourite to win this, given his aggression

I'm obviously not on the final table but if I were I may think different. But if we all thought about the odds when playing and didn't take a chance, you wouldn't have as many amateurs winning. Plus poker isn't a team sport it's a game played the individual so glory does come into it.. I've read many interviews where players have said it's not just about the money it's proving they are the best. Why wouldn't you want to be considered the best at a game that you play and take seriously. Also an overall winner will win more then the £210k they will more then like get some sort of sponsorship deal allowing them to either freeroll or gain some sort of benefit in other tournaments, it'll also open you up to a wider community of your peers by you garnering respect from them for your win.. I'm a gambling man, if you consider this foolish that is your opinion not mine..

Me: wow 21k with 82% fav is by far the most expensive bad beat i've taken so far...
Tim: its a 17k bad beat, tops, he's got some equity with the Q. I might be drunk but I'm not stupid.
