Should probs have it's own thread.

For anyone that didn't see it elsewhere, here's a post Glenn made a couple of weeks ago updating on his situtation:

Thanks everyone, I wanted to say the good wishes are very much appreciated without just trying to extend the diary de-rail but since its Claire's - meh , whatever :-)

Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will have been fitted successfully with a LVAD device which is pretty much the only short term treatment option I have. Should allow a decent quality of life.

Was first diagnosed with heart failure (dilated cardiomyopathy in 2003) but it had never restricted me from playing cricket, golf etc - not a smoking or liefstyle induced condition and bizarrely (given diet and smoking) I had completely clear arteries, low colesterol, good results when lungs tested etc.

One poss is hereditary as my Dad had the same form of heart failure and ultimately he had a transplant back in 1991

Got a few bouts of breathlessness in December and then went rapidly downhill from there, lparticularly from around mid-feb onwards. Ended up being off work for the first time in my life (at home for about 4 weeks feeling shizzle), couldnt really walk more than 50 yrds without needing a break, and played my last game of poker arpund 7 weeks ago at the Circus in Luton, oh yeah, bag for 3rd innit. Would like to play again and hope that will be one of the things I can still easily do in the future - got to spread the money round the poker community :-)

Anyway, from a slightly selfish point of view I thought if I write this down once I won't have to do it in dribs and drabs over time to people - right time for Countdown - love daytime telly now !

See you all at the poker sometime soon I hope and thanks again

News in this morning that the op went ahead on Wednesday and went 'very well'.  Glenn's still recovering in ITU, but says he's feeling fine.

Excellent stuff imo Smiley

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Funking for you Glenn.

You are very much missed by all of us.

Look forward to your full recovery, & seeing you soon. In the Car Park.
