Yes wages are down since 2007 but we can't use that statistic to say the Tories have reduced real wages. As you say it is what it is and it's doubtful real wages would be up on 2007 no matter who was in charge.

Tories reduced my wages and that doesn't even take account of inflation. But then I worked in the public sector, which always gets battered by the Tories

Whereas employees in the private sector have seen a golden era eh? I get a bit tired of the constant chip on the shoulder to be honest.

In a week when the Government appeared to be signalling a softer flavour of Brexit, the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has clarified some of Labour's plans - for the first time confirming the Opposition will seek to amend a likely Article 50 Bill being prepared by Government. http://news.sky.com/story/labours-amendments-likely-to-delay-article-50-10681748?dcmp=snt-sf-twitter

Meh. This was one bi election under the full microscope of the nation, with a sitting MP who is/was a massively hardline Brexiteer in a very pro Remain constituency. Who also ran a divisive campaign for London Mayor which must have dismayed many people who previously supported him. I don't think we can deduce anything for the future from this unique event.
