The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

SHOES OFF! HERO!

He thought it polite to take his shoes off when he went round to your parents' house for a game of poker...

Thank you all for your kind words. Special thanks to Tighty for picking this up and giving me my 15 minutes of fame...!

It wasn't exactly a huge field or a massive score (5k Euros) but it was hugely satisfying in other ways. Father Gascoigne and I had busted the main in the arvo. I went out getting it in with  Vs  as the last aggressor on  against a French lady who called off. Needless to say the "Carreau, Carreau" run out wasn't exactly the board I was hoping for.

On pretty major tilt I joined the Fatman for a pizza and a few beers (he had obv already busted also), and decided to reg the 'Tour Effel' essentially as it would be cheaper than tilting my balls off at 5-5 cash.

Ran well, got a plum draw once into the heads up matches (was 9 handed til last 18, then 6max, then HU from last 8 players) and defeated legendary gambler and Parisian plastic surgeon Michel in the final.

Was well chuffed, as I think this photo probably demonstrates:

Rounded off a lovely trip with the Father - cheers big man.

Oh, and regards shoes off, perhaps I inadvertently channeled the skills of this man!
