Best Moment Of The WSOP So Far

So every day they have a bracelet ceremony honouring those who have won events on the previous day.
Today they were honouring John Kabbaj, the traditional ceremony includes a playing of that person's national anthem.
So imagine to everyone's surprise when instead of the traditional God Save The Queen, from out of the microphones comes...
"God Save The Queen" by The Sex Pistols...
I'm a little shocked, but it becomes hilarious when ALL the players still stand quietly (and I'm talking about several hundred) in total respect to a punk anarchist anthem.
Fallout:
John Kabbaj didn't request this, he's getting a proper ceremony tomorrow. Apparently a few British players suggested it next time a Brit won a bracelet, about 10 days I jokingly suggested it to Nolan Dalla too (along with the Hendrix version of Star Spangled Banner) but I never thought they'd do it.
A few Brits are upset, Kabbaj rightly so, but a couple of others like John Shoreman didn't like it either.
Despite this, it's got to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen at a WSOP.

Awesome.
Slightly disappointed by the fact they'd stolen my move if I ever win a bracelet.
I was all ready to shush anyone who spoke during the song.

I would ask for Harry Belafonte's Jump In The Line.

Great stuff.
John has a cracking, dry sense of humour, and surely would have found it hilarious.
Not surprised Mr Shoreman found it distasteful.
Never met a more miserable man, lacking in any sense of humour, in all my life at a poker table.

I'm going to have "My Way" by Sid Vicious if I ever win one.
I bet Kabbage laughed his socks off.

Never met a more miserable man, lacking in any sense of humour, in all my life at a poker table.
The first thing I did after the ceremony was to ask John if he requested the song. He told me he had not. Had he requsted this I would have said nothing. John was in shock. This was the pinicle of his poker life and it had been ruined. I knew he would say nothing. It was on johns behalf I made the protest. The ignorant wsop dierctors actually thought this was a version of the national anthum. I have a sense of humour but this was just an insult to the British players. I spoke to john the next day and he confirmed to me he was upset by what had happend. He played the 50,000 HORSE the day of the ceremony and he said he was on tilt for 2 hours because of this.
So much for your reading abilities of how John would react. There hasn't been a Brit I have spoken to at the wsop who thought this wasn't in bad taste and felt bad and sorry for John

Thx for posting Jon and clearing things up
Did the WSOP directors give a reason for the change of anthem from when JP and Roland collected there bracelts.
I assume this wont be happening again in the future

Their first statement was that john requested it. John walked by and said he knew nothing about it. They then said "a few Brits requested it" this I can beleive. I also beleive that they thought this was a version of the natinal anthum. As I said, had john been aware of this or didn't have a problem I would have said nothing. But john was not aware and he did gave a problem , and so I said something.
