Shaf just has a mild case of poker tourette's. It comes with years of outdraws and all it means is some of the terminology used to describe certain hands or certain players may be just a little colourful. Channel 4 better hope he doesn't get too worked up or the ten profanities you are looking for could become 110 Wink

I've got a question.

Billy Ngo announced "second nuts" in the earlier hand with Carter.

Is K-T second nuts on a K-K-2-T-9 board?

Isn't it the nuts? Cos you know the other person can't have KK.....

Well done Dan, awesome performance mate, shame you got so cold decked at the end but still great work...
this is nuts

It is if the Ten and the Nine are the same suit as one of the Kings (meaning QJ of that suit is the nuts).

Rainbow board.

Dan is all in for 97k (what a surprise)... Jerome calls the 72k extra from the big blind.
vs - ooh, not a good match up for a double through, and with an Ace and two Tens on the flop, Dan was already standing up as the turn and river came out.

So Dan Carter finishes 6th, winning £18,000

4th, surely stirthepot

FMP

No idea what that means, but it looks rude Shocked

It's been a long day...but not as long as it has been for those at the felt (respect).

Yes, if you hold it, it is the nuts.  But the 'nuts' as in, best possible hand on that board is quads (no straight flush possible).  In that instance, because he had the top house of kings and therefore one of the Kings, the nuts was changed to his hand (which could theoretically tie).

To him, he's holding the nuts, but to the other person he's holding the second nuts (if the other person didn't have a K).

Basically, can K-T be described as the nuts seeing as K-K isn't possible because there are two on the board and there are 1 in his hand.

ie. Two nut hands.

Dan makes up the small blind and Billy checks.

2-K-K Flop

Dan bets 40k, Billy calls.

Ten turn

Both check

Nine River

Dan bets 80k and Billy makes it 180k.

"I really think you've got K-2," says Dan.

"I swear to God I don't have that," responds Billy.

Dan moves all-in and Billy calls.

Billy takes the pot with K-T, Dan has Nines.

Dan down to the felt with under 100k.

Ouch.

What a filthy soddin' river Sad   GAYYY

Well, Dan got his read right... apart from the 2.  Hard to get away from a rivered set, but a poker player who says " I swear to god" should be avoided like the plague!

OK OK back to the game - it's restarted...and during the break preceding they've discussed and, it looks like, done a deal.  No surprises there.  Remember that all the nice extras - the £10,000 added by BlueSquare and the £3,000 seat in the Final are for 1st only.

Deal details if we can find them.

Interesting observation.

The 10k extra for the winner means that there is ALWAYS something to play for, even if they split the entire pot.

This must surely avoid a complete all-in fest at the end, which can only be a good thing, especially when it's televised.

BREAKING NEWS - - - - THERE IS NO DEAL

Shaf wanted to split 60% between them and play for the rest.  Jerome, quite rightly, told him where to go.
