the 3 25k chips is not nice i agree
Yeah. I can't stand sharp practice like that. It's plain cheating.

Did he actually hide them tho?

They weren't hidden, they were at the front of his stack. Ali just didnt notice (they aren't very clear tbh) and John said he thought he hadnt spotted them. No issue... Ali should have made sure I guess.

Apologies if the way I wrote it sounded like they were at the back behind his big ones, confirmed at the front under the purples
difficult to spot, I often have difficulties spotting them if under purples

in which case they shoud be on top of his stack clearly visible

like todd says pretty sure ali had 2 cards and thought "hooray its go time"

but thats not the point.

They DON'T have to be on top of the stack, at the bottom and visible is fine.

If they aren't clearly visible I disagree. Why create an issue, get them out front

Players "always" store their highest value chips at the bottom of the second highest value chips at the front of their stack...... Don't really see an issue here

In my very humble opinion. If you are going to accuse someone of sharp practice or cast doubt on a persons integrity, you need to be absolutely certain his intentions were dishonourable.

Seems pretty harsh. As long as they're visible and at the front of his stack that's all it takes. The other player has a responsibility to himself to double check someone stack size if there is any doubt. From my experience of playing with / talking to John I can't imagine him trying to angle anyone like that

Doesn't really sound like he did anything wrong. At first it sounded pretty bad though and it's something any updater should be really clear/certain about.

Hmmmm ok!

Fwiw I wasn't casting doubt on his character re shooting an angle, but I know where my chips would have been.

I disagree that players "always" have them at the bottom. Can't think of a single instance where that is the case!

For him to say to Ali he knew Ali didn't know, suggests at worst he didn't want him to know, at best it was a shit rub down!

Simple fact is if this was adebeyo or whatever the blokes name is there would be a very different tone. That's all

Oh and my single 25k chip will be firmly at the bottom of my stack fom now on especially if I'm in seat 1 or 9. I'll let the td make the decision and won't use my own best judgment as to whether it might be clear to all
