Have you noticed how beautiful fresh tomatoes are at this time of year? Succulent, full of juice, & barely a calorie or bit of sat-fat to be seen.

Probably THE best deal in vegas atm is the $22.14 lunch offering in Milos.  The tomato salad was just so flavourful I couldn't even begin to describe it.

$22.14 = £13 in today's money.  That got you a 3 course menu, of which that was the starter.  I was pretty much stuffed after eating it.

Value is in the eye of the beholder, but I'm absolutely convinced that was better value than AYCE in a $5 buffet.

In Thailand and many parts of Asia, simple things like tomatoes have sooo much more flavour. Is that simply down to the fact they aren't just sprayed with bullshit?

Oops, my bad. I thought that was the entire meal.

Probably because they are sprayed with bullshit rather than chemicals.

Probs because they are grown in the ground and get to see daylight. Most commercial tomatoes are grown in huge greenhouses out of soil and just fed nutrient filled water and lamps replace sunlight. Hence zero taste

Yea sorry, I can see I didn't really make that clear.  I said I couldn't really describe a way to say how great it tasted, but let's put it this way.  If it was just that salad for $22.14, then I would still go back and have it.  But I do agree at that point, I wouldn't be singing about it as a great deal either.

Anyone still alive and kicking over here?  I met up with some old friends last night from an era where I was maybe 4 stone heavier than now.  A couple of them walked straight past me and someone had to point out who I was.  Wasn't a bad feeling, tbf.

Thanks Lee, hope your head is in the right place again and you can kick on.  I'm now floating around 16st 4 and not following any particular plan.  I am playing badminton about 4 times a week and on those days, I usually have a good breakfast and a late lunch and then not eat again in the evening - seems to work in terms of not feeling like throwing up on court, as well as maintaining weight without any effort.  If I can make a bit of effort somewhere else too, then I've got a sporting chance of losing a pound.
