Title: Robin Hood Thief's
Post by: Sark79 on May 09, 2006, 01:10:14 PM
I heard this story on the radio this morning and found it amusing.

There is a gang of 30 people in Hamburg who rob posh gourmet stores and feed the poor with their gains. I know it is not really correct to side with criminals, but these guys are modern day Robin Hood's and I cannot help myself... I like their style.  :D

Here is the story taken from THE INDEPENDENT   http://news.independent.co.uk/europe/article362870.ece

This group will be connected with the St Pauli support no doubt.... they're very left wing & a great bunch to go to the game with. I'm planning on buying a season ticket for them next year.

Hamburg's got a history of anti-establishment behaviour & direct action. Maybe that's why I love to go there... (apart from the beer/red light district & St Pauli ;) )

nelson mandela was deemed to be a criminal in a non conformist way and plenty people side with him.

you side with whoever you like and be proud of yourself; remember: your a great guy!!!!

take each new day in your stride and meet your new challenges head on.

post on blonde at least once a day and be nice to stray animals.

drink in moderation and never take hard drugs!!! unless you get them free.

exersize regularly and breath in the morning air.

play poker to the best of your ability, you may even win.

always pay upfront, its the way its always been done.

and remember more impotantly than anything else:YOUR A WINNER!!!!

I did buy a couple of Cornish Pasties and a pint of milk from Greggs the other day for a stray dog wandering the streets.

Another thing which I found funny about the story. When they were leaving the delicatessen, one of the gang members gave the Lady behind the counter a bunch of flowers. He was covering two bases here, it endears him to the public and he stands a better chance of getting a date.

I have only been in a posh delicatessen once. It was so expensive and didn't have much vegetarian stuff.  These kind of people are of course breaking the law, but the things they steal are being used to make a person in a desperate position happy for the day.  That is OK by me.

Anyone else feel there's a bit of a disconnect between playing poker (a very selfish game) and being of a socialist outlook?

I consider myself a socialist but I want to take money off others with no real consideration for their financial state..... ;goodvevil;

Reminds me of the time when some gypsies stole  Tesco's delivery lorry and drove it away while it was being unloaded. They'd left the back doors open as well so 90% of the food dropped out of the back and was wasted... :D
