 ;tk;

on a board that you have to put someone on a made straight yes untill you put in over $400 then you have to call for the value

well it wasn't until it all kicked off after I had raised (to make draws pay!!) the flop bet and subsequent flat call I realised I was behind and then as you said I had redraws to the house....

Played itself though!

surely with 3 to the straight on the board middle set doesnt play that way? ;D

its not as if there was a gap i would have put someone on the KQ

mind you with all that action you were getting pot odds to make the play i suppose but your still a fish

you fish

This is holdem, not Omaha.

To be fair, mini-raise didn't come from made straight and he's over 30% to fill.

31.34% to win a 4-way pot. How is that behind?

As Tighty said, the hand played itself.

By just calling, he doesn't give JQ and AQ the oppurtunity to make a huge mistake.

That's sarcasm

...and sarcastically accusing someone of sarcasm may also qualify as irony.

I never really understood irony, Alanis didn't explain it very well........

An Irish stand-up (whose name escapes me) did a good set about Alanis Morrisette and how the only Irony in the song "Ironic" was that it was written by someone who doesn't understand irony.

Rain (or rad-e-ain) on your wedding day is just unfortunate. It only becomes ironic when you're getting married to Michael Fish, and he picked the date.

Similary, a traffic jam when you're already late is only ironic when you're a town planner on your way to a meeting about reducing congestion.

What about good advice that you just cant take?

Title: Re: Wipeout.....
Post by: thetank on May 10, 2006, 03:49:33 AM
Good advice that you just didn't take.

If that advice was written by yourself, and you just didn't take it, that would qualify.

If someone advised Ms. Morissette not to write Ironic, that would qualify too.

Ed Byrne. He said something along the lines that, "A thousand spoons when all you need is a knife, is not ironic but bad cutlery planning."

"Ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife? That's not ironic either, that's just f****ing weird. But of course, if you did have ten thousand spoons when all you needed was a knife, and then the next day you discovered that actually a spoon would have done the job just as well, now that would be ironic"

"Now do you know what's ironic? A stupid, whiny Canadian bint writing a song called 'Ironic' which goes on to become a massive worldwide hit despite her not having the faintest idea what irony actually is. Now that's bleedin' ironic."

Beat me to it.  The irony piss take of Alanis was Ed Byrne - very funny guy!
