Title: Re: bad day depressing Post by: tikay on May 10, 2006, 06:36:51 PM Sorry to hear that Barry, I know your brother quite well, & he's a smasher. Years ago, diabates was something difficult to control. My father had 11 brothers & sisters, they all had it, & most of them had various limbs amputated. Musical Chairs at Family Parties was a hoot! But these days, caught soon enough, it can be held in check, & it's less of a problem than it was in those days. I do wish him well, pass on my best wishes please, & I feel for you too, I know how bad you feel. It'll be OK mate, it will. Title: Re: bad day depressing Post by: LukieD on May 10, 2006, 06:49:47 PM Sorry to hear. Fingers crossed for your bro!

I have been diabetic for about 9 years. It doesn't really effect me a great deal thankfully. I still have good eyesight and have no other related problems connected with it. Generally if I take my insulin when I am advised to after my meals and go running most days, my sugar levels are always the same as a normal healthy person when tested ( normal is between 4.7 and 7.0 ). I really feel for Barry and his brother at the moment. It must be a scary position to be in and as I said earlier our best wishes are with them both..
