Title: Stats help Post by: JoeStrummer on May 11, 2006, 08:23:06 AM Ok, a quick one..... And i should probably know this one anyway.
If holding AK in a ten handed table (or even AQ and AJ) what are the chances of running into AA? The reason behind this question is that during playing yesterday I saw AK up against AA on six different occassions, which to me seems(?) very high. Thanks in advance. Title: Re: Stats help Post by: AndrewT on May 11, 2006, 10:07:44 AM The normal likelihood of someone getting dealt AA is 220/1.
However, you have one of the Aces, which means the chances of one of your opponents having Aces is reduced to 440/1 (now only 3 ways AA can be constructed instead of 6 before). If you have nine opponents, then the chances of any one of them having Aces is 440/9, or about 49/1. Of course, when you're holding AK, this chance drops to about even money... Only online - but then the AK will beat the AA 48% of the time and 23% of the time both players split with the nut straight...........
