Right - the current boom in poker continues & in a few years time the final table at the WSOP is a big showcase event.... Table on a raised dias, Michael Buffer announcing each player as they enter "in seat 2 with the short stack, he's big, he's bad, he's from Colchester England, it's Kev The Abominable Pieman" type announcement. The player's entrance music starts in a Naseem Hamed stylee and the player makes their entrance. All the players are in place and Buffer shouts LET'S GET READY TO SSHHHUUUUFFFFFLLLLLEEE!!!

What entrance music would you want and why?

intro to Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden is first to mind. that or any number of Joe Satriani of Steve Vai intros. something dead guitary anyway

Nice call. Thunderstruck by AC/DC from the live album would be great at creating atmosphere as well.

I like  For the Love of God  by Steve Vai.  Thats not my choice though.

When i used to play pool in manchester my "enterance music" used to be house of pain and "jump around" then when i moved to plymouth and played for a team there it was prodigy and "breathe". Now it would have to be two tracks from an album called breakbeat kaos called "smash something" which lasts about 45 seconds and is an intro into a song called "stand clear". No-one will have heard of either but its what i listen to when i'm trying to pysche myself up quickly :)

Top shout mate!! Did the song go into a bit of techno before going back to the chorus when you heard them live? Where did you see them by the way? I have a really good MP3 of that.

I can't really remember mate, I'm guessing that if they did it would stick out in my mind.  I've seen them twice, Dec '97 at brixton supporting Blur and the second time was headlining Shepherds Bush, it was either just before or just after Guerilla came out.

The highlight for me of both shows was Demons with the brass section, and the drummer brining two massive Kettle drums to play alongside a bit of a dancy type tune.  Basically it was the bit on the end of Radiator.  I think the end of Mountain People?  Absolutely class.  He bounced his stick into the crowd at the end, off of the drum skin.

Great topic by the way.  Hard to decide on one, so i have a small shortlist.  Better not make the final then!!
