Title: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: TightEnd on May 12, 2006, 11:16:42 AM I am final judge and arbiter of who gets in the final team, cos I started the thread!
Anyway, they have to have been capped by England, at the end of the day I will announce the chosen team I nominate Nemesis as my vice captain in the choosing panel I'll start with an automatic choice Carlton Palmer (lets face it quite a few of these will be from the Graham Taylor era) One of the sweaties can do the all time worst Scots XI.... Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 11:21:40 AM Andy Sinton.
Again one from the Turnip era. Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nakor on May 12, 2006, 11:29:42 AM FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION:
Gary Ablett Earl Barrett Warren Barton Lee Chapman Nigel Clough Owen Hargreaves Neil Ruddock Geoff Thomas David Unsworth Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 11:31:17 AM Nigel Winterburn & Michael Ricketts
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Karabiner on May 12, 2006, 11:40:13 AM Chris Powell would be one of my first names on this teamsheet.
Nemesis I'm starting to worry about your judgement. Winterburn was an excellent player and unfortunate not to win more caps. Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 11:43:08 AM Chris Powell would be one of my first names on this teamsheet. Nemesis I'm starting to worry about your judgement. Winterburn was an excellent player and unfortunate not to win more caps. I would rather have Powell than Winterburn any day of the week. Winterburn was simply poo. Nemesis I'm starting to worry about your judgement. Winterburn was an excellent player and unfortunate not to win more caps. I would rather have Powell than Winterburn any day of the week. Winterburn was simply poo. His record of a decade as first choice Arsenal left back in arguably the finest back four who ever played together, winning three league titles, two FA Cups,(including the domestic league and cup double in 1998) One League Cup, and one european Cup-Winner's Cup would throw some doubt on your claim Nemesis. If Stuart Pearce had not been the regular Enland left full back Winterburn would have won many more caps. Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: TightEnd on May 12, 2006, 12:07:36 PM I'm with Ralph on this, Winterburn is nowhere near this team
Give me Dorigo at left back Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Triple X on May 12, 2006, 12:10:56 PM winterburn worse player - are you having a laugh???????
my nomination would be Keith Curle..... Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: TightEnd on May 12, 2006, 12:12:40 PM Keith Curle is a great choice
Tony Daley? Philip Neville, just on principle a goalkeeper? Beasant? James? who else? Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Karabiner on May 12, 2006, 12:13:32 PM Ian Walker must be in the frame for the keeper's jersey.
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: ifm on May 12, 2006, 12:16:42 PM Loved Dorigo, he had a great 1990 world cup.
Geoff Thomas if only for his shot hitting the corner flag v France (i think). My nomination:- John Barnes Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: TightEnd on May 12, 2006, 12:21:57 PM My nomination:- John Barnes controversial, possibly deliberately so!!! Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 12:22:08 PM Nigel Winterburn. The definte value in the famous back 4.
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: TightEnd on May 12, 2006, 12:23:33 PM Did Steve Bould ever get a cap?
I thought he was useless and had a reputation entirely derived from years next to Adams Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 12:24:58 PM Ray Parlour.
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: SM1LE on May 12, 2006, 12:28:28 PM Michael Ball
Gavin Mcann Both useless Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Triple X on May 12, 2006, 12:31:40 PM Ray Parlour. come on nemesis be objective!!!! tony daley, keith curle, geoff thomas and earl barrett from the taylor era are heads and shoulders above any other cr*p players since. Gavin McCann in recent times is a good shout. I remember that Taylor even played Keith Curle as a right wing back or maybe just a conventional right back!!! Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Karabiner on May 12, 2006, 12:35:37 PM I seem to remember Graham Taylor picking the Arsenal back four for one game.
Dixon, Adams, Bould and Winterburn. Nemesis stop picking Arsenal players or I'll reply in kind. Ralph Coates for starters Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 12:42:26 PM FFS! Why cant you take it that some average players have played for Arsenal?
Nigel Winterburn and Ray Parlour are both shit. Always have been. Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Triple X on May 12, 2006, 12:44:39 PM come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they were not sh*t - maybe average players in a great team, but you do not play that many games for arsenal ESPECIALLY under Wenger if you are not up to it. The title of this thread is the worst players, not the average players!!! Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 12:47:21 PM come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they were not sh*t - maybe average players in a great team You are boring me with your bias views. Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 12:53:21 PM Anyone mentioned Carlton Palmer yet? He is always going to be 1st on the team sheet. Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: TightEnd on May 12, 2006, 12:54:07 PM See first post

Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Karabiner on May 12, 2006, 12:55:09 PM Ian Storey-Moore
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: SM1LE on May 12, 2006, 12:58:33 PM OMG just remembered another gem
Andy Hinchcliffe How he ever played for England is beyond me Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: TightEnd on May 12, 2006, 01:00:01 PM Great shout.
He beats Dorigo to the LB spot comfortably Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 01:00:59 PM Man City forward.
David White Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Triple X on May 12, 2006, 01:33:02 PM Man City forward. David White now that is a great one!!! Graham Taylor didn't half come out with some classics! I dont need to worry that McLaren will be similar do I? Who give Hinchcliffe his cap? Took a mean corner but boy he was cr*p Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: booder on May 12, 2006, 01:39:33 PM worst england teams...................

Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Nem on May 12, 2006, 01:51:41 PM I have to disagree with Tim Flowers. He was a top goal keeper.
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: action man on May 12, 2006, 01:52:40 PM briane deane (sheff utd) steve stone (forest) owen Hargreaves (bayern munich) andy johnson (palace)
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: TightEnd on May 12, 2006, 01:57:22 PM I have to disagree with Tim Flowers. He was a top goal keeper. totally agree, excellent and consistent. Ian Walker versus Italy has to be in the 1990-2000 Team Steve Whitworth was very good too in the 70s at full back Great lists though booder, saved me a job for later Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: action man on May 12, 2006, 02:00:45 PM wilcox and seth johnson definately, Palmer was a great player in the early 90's. If anyone puts david Hirst up here i'll go barmy, him and and shearer would have been awesome
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: action man on May 12, 2006, 02:03:57 PM How about Rod wallace
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: snoopy1239 on June 09, 2006, 03:20:30 PM The worst player to be capped by England has to be Gary Charles
Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Robert HM on June 09, 2006, 04:30:29 PM See first post Primus Inter Pares amongst candidates. Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: bobby1 on June 09, 2006, 05:15:33 PM David White.
Brian Deane. Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: 77dave on June 09, 2006, 07:30:42 PM chris sutton and tony daley are my shouts
after sutton refused to play for engalnd B he became the biggest disgrace ever to pull on an england shirt also lee hendrie is worth a shout francis jeffers may be a one cap wonder but he did score in his only game finally ever crap team needs a crap manager and only graham taylor fits the bill ( although tighty might vote for peter taylor) it was peter taylor tht gave beckam the captains armband Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Geist on June 09, 2006, 09:52:42 PM I'll start with an automatic choice Carlton Palmer (lets face it quite a few of these will be from the Graham Taylor era) Everyone picks on Carlton Palmer even his manager. Still remeber a quote by Dave Jones about him "We reckon Carlton Palmer covers every blade of grass — but then you have to if your first touch is that crap."" Can't have Paul Mariner in there. Who will ever forget that final qualifier for the 1982 World Cup in Spain and we had to beat Hungary to get there and he fell over the ball and it bobbled over the line. But for him we wouldnt have got there :) Title: Re: Nominations please: Your worst ever English International team Post by: Royal Flush on June 15, 2006, 10:56:45 AM I'll start with an automatic choice Carlton Palmer (lets face it quite a few of these will be from the Graham Taylor era) Everyone picks on Carlton Palmer even his manager.
