That's the best ever episode of Dr Who I've ever seen.it took me back to the first time I saw these monster enemy of the time lord.
They are the best.Darleks are just BBC waste bins tarted up with a plunger....but these are a whole different ballgame.
Cold,with a heart of metal,and a body of shining silver.
What makes them worse though,is there total lack of a consciance.

Must admit enjoying Dr Who this time around. When I was same age as my kids are now, I used to hide behind the sofa when the daleks were on!!

I love this show.  It is excellent.  In Ottakers in East Kilbride there is a full size Dalek in the entrance. I have been to see it twice now.   Yes I am that sad..

I wonder what Rigsby would have made of the President of Great Britain. :)

I love Doctor who as do my children.

I did wonder if it would be as good as the last series with the change of the Doctor,but David Tennant seems to be doing a quality job.

The first episode of Dr. Who I ever saw was Earthshock, back in the Peter Davison era (I was 5), so I completely loved/hated the Cybermen. Never really "got" the Daleks as a kid... although they've solved the 'stairs' dilemma since then, of course.

Russell's take on Dr. Who is a really good one - he's opened up the series, to cover all the aspects of time travel that the original series didn't ever want to bother with (e.g. What happens to a companion's family while she's off with the Doctor? Can a companion go back and change her own past? What happens after a companion stops travelling with the Doctor?)

It's a real writing achievement to be able to get things like that in the show, (proper drama!) keep all the monster-bits that everyone wants and expects, 'humanise' the Doctor himself, AND pare down each adventure to 45 minutes.

Tennant is a very good actor, the show is in safe hands it seems - although I still wish Eccles had stayed on for another series; it feels like we didn't get to know his Doctor well enough.

i really enjoyed last weeks show and thought it was the best so far....fiinally getting to grips with the doctor's emotions and how lonely he actually is. i know it has been mentioned in the past but last weeks really got to grips with the fact that the doctor gets really close to someone and has to live on with himself after they died

Tom Baker was the best Dr Who and David Tennant is similar, with his manic smile and laugh. My kids love it too. I'm so happy they managed to erase - or 'delete' the sad memory of Sylvester McCoy (shiver down the spine there).

I did quite a good impression of Tom Baker as Dr Who, when I was younger. I had a Tom Baker action figure with tardis and talking dalek. I saw the same dalek on the antiques roadshow selling for £100! Damn you, mother for throwing out my toys!

I was a bit worried when they brought the programme back that they'd ruin the fond memories I had of it but I was worrying about nothing. This series and the last have been superb.

15 years ago I knew someone who modelled himself on Tom Baker. Scarily enough I saw him last year and he was still doing it scarf and all.

I made my gran knit me a Tom Baker scarf for my birthday - I was 8 at the time.

I liked Sylvester McCoy's Doctor, and Ace was a great companion character. It's a shame the series was winding down when he took over; the high-ups at the BBC were trying to kill the show, so I think both he and Colin Baker got a bit of a raw deal.

With regard to the new series - this particular episode was okay, although Trigger is overdoing it just a tad....  :D

I still think "Father's Day" is the best episode from Russell's era as script editor.
