Another excelelnt comp, 53 runners and £15k pot

6..yes SIX..blondeites reached the final

Carlo Citrone 9th, with a quite remarkable exit hand
Wardonkey 8th
Malc M 7th
Shieldsy ITB 5th

and as you have hard above tikay and rookie ITB in the final four with Stuart Nash and Asif from Luton

A quick word about Ben Turnstill, Rookie ITB...Unlike his dad, inthebelly, who is rubbish, this 18 year old lad played superbly showing great temperament and a fine game...a name to watch

Finally special mention to the blonde PRO Wardonkey and NoFlopsHomer who manfully kept watch over tikay as the final progressed

It was good fun playing with you sir. Btw, on that 6642 flop when you bet the turn and the river I had pocket 2's. ;)

The table itself was carnage, I think that before it was broken up, 10-12 players had busted out on our table. (Only 53 started!!!)

a great day for blondes with 6 on the final table.

correction to tightys post it was lightbrezeitb in 5th and not shieldsyitb. lightbreze was very unlucky to exit in 5th when his AQ suited failed to beat Asif's A8 all in pre flop.

with four left rookieitb was more than holding his own with the others and when the deal was made he was marginal chip leader with asif with stuart nash and tikay lower stacked.

id like to thank tikay and tighty for there words of advice regards the deal that was made. rookie took £700 more than 2nd place prize money and with the blinds getting high and 4th guarenteed just £1300 the deal he took was to hard to turn down.

its rookie biggest off line win and im sure there is more to come.

as a few of you know his online record in multis is excellent and its good to see him progress into a good standard live game with a number of pros present and more than hold his own.

as for me well i qualified for £30 before the tournament when destroying a single table sattalite. i wasnt going to play just railbird.

53 entered i came 51st lol as tighty says im "rubbish"

funny thing was after the deal was done they all decided to push all in to settle official placings. rookieitb was reluctant to do this as being his first big finish in an event of this standing he wanted to play on to secure first place. he reluctantly pushed his chips in with 23 off suit only to se the flop preduce a 2 and a 3 and for it to hold up to provide him with the win he so deserved.

tikays kind words after to rookie were most  appreciated and tikays play itself was much to be admired after being down to felt on a number of occasions.

was great to meet some new blondes as well and noflopshomer was extremely unlucky to go out 2 from the bubble after playing well all day.

The deal? I was just a little worried, as was Tighty, that Rookie might get "pushed around" when someone (off table, as it happened) first suggested doing business.

Tighty & I went to In The Belly (he's rubbish) & made sure he understood, that Rookie should NOT be pushed around in the deal. I could SEE how much the comp meant to him, & was happy to play on, personally, but I told Rookie that I would go with the flow - whatever he wanted to do - play or Deal - I would go along with.

We had all enjoyed a great comp, with a thoroughly enjoyable Final, played in a great spirit, with plenty of good-natured banter. I made 6 or 7 attempts to get a move past Rookie (I was one to his right) but he would not have it, & played back each time.

Delighted for him.

For me, poker is about more than winning - it's about having a fun experience, & I did not want it marred by ill-natured deal talk, most especially as it was Rookie's first "big" occasion Live.

I was as pleased as Punch for him, & delighted to pocket £2,500 for myself. Happy days.

where else would you find two great guys as tighty and tikay anywhere but on blonde?

worrying about the welfare of a young up and coming player whereas a lot of players would be looking to turn him over. tikay was still in and as usual wanted whats best for all.

tighty and tikay top players and throughly nice blokes :respect:

Too late. It's in my next blog entry, recorded for posterity. I have witnesses, you know.

I love you, Floppy.
