Surely your night out with the "Orleans" mob was the highlight of your trip ;)

I always come back to Ladbrokes. Firstly, I love the banter. Sometimes I wonder if my chat facility is working on some of these American sites. There is often a very cold atmosphere and people are generally pretty unfriendly. On laddies however, quite a few of the players, many of whom are recognisable, join in with the chat and keep things fun and entertaining.

I also like playing on sites with fewer players. For me, this makes my notes more effective as I come across the same players more frequently.

I like the easthetics. Clear, conscise and easy to navigate. None of these silly pictures and avatars getting in the way.

The customer service is very efficient too. Always friendly and very quick to reply.

From what I've heard from other online players, you quickly become accustomed to a site and when you come to jump ship, you can encounter a bit of homesickness. This unfamiliarity can take a while to get used to and may result in players resorting back to their initial choice.

My favs are  VC, Pokerstars & Betfair

VC seems to be loaded with new players which has its frustrations and head banging wall events but has $$$$
Pokerstars software is excellent and rarely has probs although i'd say a tougher site to play on
Betfair (willhill)skin   good site although has a few hiccups now and again

also VC and pokerstars can make great notes on players and prob got about 4000 notes :)

For software I like PokerStars and I also enjoyed the Blonde tourney on William Hill - the first time I'd played there and I thought the software was really good.

For game choice I like PokerStars and Full Tilt. Messing around playing Razz or Omaha Hi/Lo is a good way of unwinding. I know some people hate the Full Tilt interface, but I like it.

For loads of players, and grim standard of play, there's no beating Party Poker and their skins.

Party was the first site I tried to join but couldn't as it wouldn't accept my debit card even though it listed it.  ???

Wouldn't accept mine either. Maybe I've been sleep shopping again.  ???

I use Neteller. Easiest way to shift cash between sites without any hassle. Makes bonus whoring simple  ;D

My Barclay was denied at fulltilt. Annoying. I then had a phone call at 8am the next day from BC Fraud prevention. More Annoying.

Problems paying US sites directly may be down to the effort the US government puts into hindering their operations.

As they can't shut them down, they attack them indirectly by, for example, leaning on the banks/credit card companies to persuade them not to deal with poker/casino sites.

I believe they also encouraged Paypal not to deal with poker sites.

i do think there is some sort of block in place though, i couldn't get my lloyds debit card to work and when it declined i got some message pointing me towards epassporte so i assume this is a common occurrance on there.

I guess it looks dodgy. I'll pass on what barclaycard say about it. If not i guess i'll have to sign up for neteller or something.

Neteller is great. You sign up to them, deposit cash from a credit/debit card, then use it as an online bankroll.

If you cash out of Party, the cash is back in your Neteller account in a couple of hours, ready to be swapped across to PokerStars or whoever. Some sites take a bit longer to make the transfer. Usually 48 hours at worst.

If you want to withdraw cash from Neteller back to your own account, you can set up a link to your bank account and get the cash sent directly to it.

The only thing that worries me about it is setting a neteller account up in  and then getting screwed on every deposit in $.

I've always used my debit card at Party and then it started getting declined so I complained to the bank and although they said it was nothing to do with them it suddenly started working again.
