Title: Re: Walsall £300 DC Freeze-out Post by: Woodsey on May 14, 2006, 11:49:06 AM First time I've played this one, it has a pretty good structure. I wish they had played down to 10 last night though as I have to go back without necessarily being paid anything which would be a pain.
Title: Re: Walsall £300 DC Freeze-out Post by: Dewi_cool on May 14, 2006, 12:01:03 PM Woodsey, stop being practical, be positive and go and win it , good luck to the two of you

Title: Re: Walsall £300 DC Freeze-out Post by: RED-DOG on May 14, 2006, 05:25:53 PM I went out in 15th. I had 50k which was a little above average (Blinds 800/1600 when I found pocket 10s on the bb
Late position man makes it 5k, he has been quite busy so I rr to 20k, he moves in for 30k more. I go in to the tank for a spell. I put him on AK, I think he wants me to lay it down, or he wants to see all the cards if I call. At this point there is 77,200 in the pot, and it will cost me my last 30k to call. The very top heavy prize structure means that almost all the money goes to the top 3 places (10k for first, 700 for 9th, 800 for 8th, 900 for 7th) so no point in playing for the minor places. I call, he does indeed have AK, the K is the first card off, and although I'm up and down on the turn, the river is a blank I'm a gonner. The £300 at Walsall is still my favourite regular comp (Although I wish they would flatten the prize structure a little) I was on the same table for the whole of the first day and the banter was great, I enjoyed every minute of it. Roll on the next one! Now, where's that kipper? Title: Re: Walsall £300 DC Freeze-out Post by: GlasgowBandit on May 14, 2006, 05:32:26 PM UL Mr Dog!
I'm sure you'll make back your expenditure on Laddies the night! Title: Re: Walsall £300 DC Freeze-out Post by: booder on May 14, 2006, 08:00:25 PM unlucky red , its only a matter of time before you crack this one
Title: Re: Walsall £300 DC Freeze-out Post by: Woodsey on May 14, 2006, 11:00:56 PM WooooHoooooo- Just managed to come second in this for 7k!
Was shortstacked most of the day but once down to 7 mangaed to double up a couple of times, then a massive pot made me chip leader with about 250k. Had a healthy lead when heads up and proceeded to lose 4 coin flips in a row trying to take my oppopnent out. Chips were roughly even after this so we agreed to take 7k each and play for the other 2k or so. Unfortunately I was on tilt after this after played like a donkey to be honest, this culminated in me bluffing off the rest of my stack with King high. Oh well, still a nice result but I would like to have won it though. Title: Re: Walsall £300 DC Freeze-out Post by: Dewi_cool on May 14, 2006, 11:15:28 PM Well done Woodsey, positive thinking perhaps?

Adding the hand to my note on you! lol Title: Re: Walsall £300 DC Freeze-out Post by: RED-DOG on May 15, 2006, 06:09:03 PM Of course, I could also have moved all in after the initial raise and put the decision back on him, does he call for all his chips with AK?
Or I could just call his raise and then bet out on a favorable flop, or fold if a scare card comes and he bets the flop. The deciding factor for me was the prize structure. Title: Re: Walsall £300 DC Freeze-out Post by: Slick Kid on May 16, 2006, 02:21:50 AM You did nothing wrong Red, ul mate.
