He told the story of the shiny-shoed, smartly dressed, polite Porter, or Platform Attendent, at Leicester Railway Station. I have seen that very man a hundred times, spoken to him on several occasions, but I never noticed his "MBE" badge. That's the difference. Others crave for him, he's had "approaches" too, but he will always be where he's happy & comfortable. Let's hope that's always blonde. So if you like his stuff guys, make sure you say as much. It means a lot to him. It may not be widely known, but when blonde began, Red reckoned he could barely write a coherent & grammatically correct sentence. But the pressure of it not looking right drove him on. What a man. I would echo the sentiments of those who say you should write a book, you are very creative and I had an amazing image of the club house burning down. I hope you see Siddy again, and I hope his disfigurement never stopped him leading a decent life. |
