I have a couple of cool beatles recordings.  One is a computer CD with every beatles album on it and all the words.  The other is a tape of various beatles songs played on guitar .  I have never been able to work out who it is by, the quality of guitar is absolutely amazing and is probably the best I have heard. It is all finger picking and very little strumming.  Adam would probably be able to tell me the name of the player if he heard it.

I can truly say Vinni, you do not sing, you groan. And we all groan with you.

It's actually very annoying, truth to tell, & I do not mean that in a rude way. When someone wears an i-Pod & sings to it, they do not realise how loud their voice is. The entire table is unable to chat, & the whole cardroom is forced to listen to the noise.

I am not having a pop here Barry - it's, for once, a serious point. Let your cards do the singing Barry. They do it well the way you play them.

In response to the Baron - Across the Universe by Lennon is also my favourite Beatles song.  It rarely gets played, and is one of his more obscure compositions.  Congrats for mentioning it ! To all the other Beatles fans - try and listen to it !

Agreed. The album it came on was very "poor" in Lennon's view but he wouldn't say a bad word about that song. He loved it. It was written at the start of the Apple problems an the album suffered as a result. That song was the silver lining though.

tony i really think you ought to listen to a few of these albums ,

they are a lot better than max you know

I got every one of 'em Vinni. Grew up with the Beatles, watched them live, remember as if it were only yesterday the thrill of their first 3 or 4 singles, their development to musicians & songwriters of the once in a hundred years quality, & their eventual decline caused by Epstein's death, money, & drugs.

But even at their worst, they were a million times better than their Tribute Band - Oasis.

I agree with you Adam. Love covers though - best cover I've heard of Day Tripper was on the Jimi Hendrix Radio 1 Sessions album... Allegedly Lennon & McCartney were at the BBC at the time, heard he was recording & came in to siing the backing vocals.
