Title: Poker Tables
Post by: Bongo on July 28, 2005, 03:47:15 PM
My boss has just finished his games room and would like to add a fold away poker table to it to allow us to play home games.

I'm guessing an octagonal/circular table would be the best for a self deal table?

Does anyone have any recommendations of a good supplier?

i bought an octagonal fold in 2 table with green blank cloth and chip/cup holders. Backed with black vinyl sticj type. Came with carry bag.

It has been ideal and bough it off internet site gamble.co.uk...dont know who their supplier was but definately chinese origin.

gets plenty of use and i like it..for about 40 notes

I don't like the chip holders and drinks on the table, even in holders is a bad habit.

While setting up my site I've obviously been looking for companies to swap links with and one I found makes custom tables. they're way more expensive than 40 but they are beautiful. if I sell enough Tshirts I am definitely investing.

Have a look at www.masinogaming.co.uk

I'm not a fan of the octagonal tables. They're fine if you're playing shorthanded but any more than say 7 players and it just feels too cramped. I much prefer a decent dining table to one of those overpriced jobbies. I'd save the money on the table and put it towards some decent chips.

Adam, have you thought about selling card protectors (whether generic or customised?)

Brumbilly

spot on concerning the numbers, the max i`ve had is 8 and had space problems but that was more to do with the size of the room and table the poker table sits on .

must convince wife to build extension for another lounge(games room)

Adam....nice tables and loads of lovely colours...just tooo much for a home game though. To be honest the drinks holders generally never get used much as people use side tables or just dont put their drink down ;D

suppose it depends on how much you want a particular table and how much it`ll set you back. In hindsight i should have gone for one of them long rectangular/oval  casino style tables fot the bigger home games

We need Phil in on this conversation. he's got a nice folding table that is comfortably seats 10 and has a padded edge. don't know where he got it though.

Card protectors. good Idea. I'm adding loads more stuff as I go. does anyone know a card protector supplier / manufacturer out there?

try www.gutshot.co.uk, go into the shop on there and they sell the exact same ones that they use in the cardroom, pretty good tables at reasonable prices. Its a kind of step up from the cheaper more commercial tables.

Back from the dead!

He didn't buy one when I told him but wants one now. :pop:

Thesportshq no longer seem to have thiers in stock (shame as it seemed good for the money) and Masino are a bit pricy as it won't be used often enough.

I had a quick look at P4C and can't see any tables there either.

looked at gamble.co.uk and they have no tables, coctail.uk.com seems to be a "flimsy" for a hundred quid.

Anyone got any recommendations or shall i tell him to scour ebay?

Bongo,

I just purchased a table top from www.poker-shop.co.uk

It was £15 for the MDF cut in kidney shape, 7ft by 4ft.  Delivered today within 2 days of the order.

I have purchased the felt and I will be building the legs myself one I figure out what works best all in all its a done deal for less than £40.

They are - I got one and it took ages to arrive. I got an octagonal padded one - it's nice and I like it - 8 is a bit cramped though, but it gets fine once you get to 6-ish. If I were doing it again I'd get a round one I think. I got the big heavy base - it's nice. The padded rail is good too. Expensive but I like it.

I still quite like my table, which cost all of about 80 quid from Cost Co. Padded rail, 8 cup holders, foldaway legs. It can seat 8 people comfortably, and prob 9-10 at a push.

When compared to "quality" products it looks a bit cheaper, but for the occasional home game, it is pretty ideal.

The ones that gutshot have are from masino gaming.

I've bought some off ebay from germany for about £79 plus shipping and they are fantastic

Masino are good quality but the black baize is a nightmare for dying your hands black,  trust me i've dealt on it for a year and after a year you think it would have worn off, but it hasn't :(

Ebay was the best i've found so far, with padded rail, 9 cupholders, foldaway legs and dealer tray for cash games.
