Title: What to do here?
Post by: Junior Senior on May 17, 2006, 02:19:13 PM
$33 SNG on Pokerstars. 6 left, 3 get paid - i play as thecharge

PokerStars Game #4963131363: Tournament #24894168, $30+$3 Hold'em No Limit -
Level IV (50/100) - 2006/05/17 - 09:10:06 (ET)
Table '24894168 1' 9-max Seat #8 is the button
Seat 2: thecharge (2120 in chips)
Seat 3: Killeen706 (1450 in chips)
Seat 5: stabbyfoulke (1985 in chips)
Seat 7: The Book13 (5755 in chips)
Seat 8: Maserati 78 (855 in chips)
Seat 9: brighteyes25 (1335 in chips)
brighteyes25: posts small blind 50
thecharge: posts big blind 100
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to thecharge [Ad Kd]
Killeen706: folds
stabbyfoulke: folds
The Book13: calls 100
Maserati 78: folds
brighteyes25: raises 1235 to 1335 and is all-in

The chip leader has been in a lot of pots but isn't aggressive - he is limping alot and is hitting.  The all-in slider has been fairly active and pretty aggressive but i dont rate him as a player.

What should i do?  Should i call, re-raise all-in or fold and wait for a better opportunity.

ALL IN

All In. You'll be racing an underpair or beating a weaker Ace

You have to play to win, and that involves the risk of busting, go for it

all in. if the cl has limped a monster it's just unlucky but on your description all in is the only move.

All in. The mover has made a move with a chip stack that cant really be called without a hand specifically so that he can steal. You have a hand and cant let him.

I'm all in. I think the limper either has aces or kings, or a hand that can not call you regardless of whether you call or raise.

Flushie, if you call and the limper calls, are you putting your stack in on the flop no matter what?

Has to be all in. You win he is out and you get a nice stack, you lose and you still have a playable amount.

The only bad hands for you are AA and KK. Six handed there is not a chance he is all in pre with either of those in an unraised pot. He probably has AQ or a pair upto JJ.

yep, by calling you are all in anyway, in effect, but it looks like you are trying to get the 3rd guy in. So he might pass a hand he calls the all in against.

OK, as most of you have said (proves i maybe know what i am doing or your all as crap as me?!) - i went all-in.  The limper insta-folded and matey boy slider flipped  Aspades Jd

so i was right with my decision - shame about the flop!! grrr.

thanks for the input, i wasn't sure whether to fold here and wait for a better opportunity - after all, i felt i was one of the better players at the table and it wasn't a turbo so there was plenty of time to play. - ah well.

You can't help bad outdraws, but if he flipped his cards and showed AJ offering you even money against AK, you should be wanting to put your house in the middle. No brainer.
