Title: A typical convo with a poker room ??
Post by: Colchester Kev on May 21, 2006, 01:52:04 PM
Firstly you have to understand that this convo followed another one where i wanted to know where my 10,000 action points had gone ... that one went unresolved and after 30 minutes of waiting and discussing the matter, they promised to get back to me later and let me know ....

I then checked my Bank account online and discovered that my latest withdrawal hadnt reached my account yet, so i wanted to make sure that all transactions were correct .   then followed the most surreal 46 minutes i can ever remember.

Host-KevinB (13:12:02): Hi sir
Kev-Colch (13:12:08): ????
Host-KevinB (13:12:24): We have credited your account with 10000
Kev-Colch (13:12:42): the action points that were missing from my account ???
Host-KevinB (13:12:55): that's right
Host-KevinB (13:13:20): When they enter you in the Wsop that cost 10000ap
Kev-Colch (13:13:34): so you are not actually creditting my account with anything ... you are jusr replacing what was mine in the first place
Host-KevinB (13:13:38): But as you entered automatically
Host-KevinB (13:13:52): replacing
Kev-Colch (13:13:57): i qualified in a 100pt sattelite
Host-KevinB (13:14:06): that's right
Kev-Colch (13:14:23): so how can it still cost me 10,000 action points
Host-KevinB (13:14:38): No its not costing any thing
Kev-Colch (13:14:55): no not now it isnt, ffs i give up
Kev-Colch (13:15:32): ok let me put this in simple terms ....
Kev-Colch (13:16:02): why was my account debitted by 10,000 action points when i qualified in a 100pt sat ??
Host-KevinB (13:17:03): We should have credited 10,000 ap first then enter you in the tournament, as the system will debit your account with 10,000 action points
Kev-Colch (13:17:41): ok... end of conversation now ... i am losing the will to live .
Kev-Colch (13:17:52): thanks for trying to help, have a good day.
Host-KevinB (13:18:05): you too cheers
(13:19:50): Chat session has been terminated.

now im sure some of you will probably think i was too rude to him, but try and appreciate that this followed a half hour convo regarding the missing action points.

I think I have yet to speak to a customer service rep for any poker site that understands English.

I once had a 2 hour conversation with a French bloke who was trying to tell me I'd lost about £40 due to a fluctuation in exchange rates over about 10 seconds.
His explanation was first that the exchange rates had changed, and when he gave me the figures and I pointed out, there should have been like a £0.20 change in the amount not £40 he concluded the exchange rates hadn't changed, and it was a banks exchange rate.

They did the same to me, some of my action points disappeared, and when I asked why he said he would transfer me to a manager and i never heard anything more from them. Useless!

I've been there Kev, i don't bother anymore. Find myself getting rude which is not like me, I repeatedly have to ask 'do you know what i am asking?' 'have you got any idea what is going on?' 'are you still there?' 'is there anyone else there?'. They are so bad i just don't understand what is going on with them.

I just entered one of the free rolls
And for some reason even though the away box was unticked, it decided to fold every hand I had...even when i was repeatedly clicking call.
After speaking to Host-Jeff, I have established he doesn't speak English, can't count, can't spell, and can't read.
It's f'ing frustrating. To be perfectly honest I think the CS needs to be improved greatly, starting with the firing of all CS staff, and employment of people who can read or I can see alot of people not using the software

Hey guys.

Your first line of help should be coming to me. As tikay and I have said before blonde doesn't have Bowmans take on blondepokerleague - it's our baby, not "just another skin". We accept responsibilty for any mishaps and guarantee your money/points.

In future, come to me and I will sort things out for you. That way I cant shout at them instead.:)

This happens occasionally on Tribeca, all you need to do is log out then log back in again. You should not miss more than a hand or two.

Seems a simple solution, shame the staff were unable to tell me that, would have saved me an hour of being pissed off and frustrated

I have found the VC and Blonde  people very helpful.  The pokerstars people are also great and efficient.  The Full-Tilt bunch are....  well,  I no longer play there.

My gripe not only with poker sites but most multi-national companies is they are taking their customer service work awayf rom developed countries and passing it onto indian contact centres in places such as Mumbai and Bangalore, where they are employing people with degrees in medicine and engineering and the likes.  But just because someone is intelligen doesn't mean to say they understand English or have a grasp of good customer services.

I become increasingly frustrated when I contact say for example Sky - because I know straight away that there is an 80% chance I am going to have to speak to someone who is not based in the UK and who is not going to undersatnd what I want, then when they finally grasp what I need done it has taken 20 minutes of yes/no questions to get there.

I work in an enviroment where we have calls transferred to India also and its one of the biggest reasons we have for complaints, customers become frustrtaed when they have tos pend 20 minutes on a call with someone base in an Indian callc entre to change the car on their insurance, if they are passed back to the UK its done in about 4 minutes.

I can see the busines rational behind cheap labour, but I strongly believe that customer satisfaction should come before profit.  Secondly I am opposed to any British work being transferred from this country.
