Okay gang, I think you're gonna like this one.

I (well, with the aid of the techies) have set up a brand spanking new caption competition.

All you need to do is trondle on over to the blonde homepage, click on 'essentials' on the menu bar, and select 'caption competition'. For now though, just click the link below.

The Caption Competition will be a weekly affair, so expect lots of amusing piccies. This week's is no different, as we witness Sir McCready at Blackpool with his David Seaman mug. A classic photo and I'm sure all the wit that lies on the surface of the blonde forum will have no problems in finding something funny to say.

Although I don't even know Red Dog, or anything about previous marriages for the purpose of the caption...mine was:
"My ex wife always said I was a mug"

and the staypuft marsh mellow man just "popped" into his head, i think this was the case with my entry, it was the most obvious answer.

3 argos cataloges(one might even be this years)

a selection of letters adressed "to the occupier"(ooooohhhhhhh mysterious)

a selection of free newspaper compilation cds.

the four "chunky truffel" chocolates out of a box of roses that i didnt like(quality streets rule by the way)!!!!!

the "mug" aspect was all to easy.

moved on to the "seaman" aspect for the next couple.

I started with the 'Seaman' angle, and have now actually sent a fourth entry to incorporate my first two.  My other entry is along the 'mug' line.  Looking forward to reading everyone elses!

The plan is to make it a weekly competition, with the forum as a whole deciding on the winner, who shall remain anonymous until they are actually declared the victor.

All captions recieve one vote each. Snoopy's fingers fall off from creating the poll.

Good idea, but I'd say five or six.  I think all the entries should be published as well though.

you should have all the entries out in the open but not say who they were by.

then let everyone vote.

if you say who they were done by everyone will just vote for there favorite person, and if the results are displayed in running the people that vote late on will just vote for the one that everyone else has been voting for.

It's a caption competition, not a referendum on the single currenecy.

You're well within your rights just to pick a winner yourself.

(Polls are always good for a cracking argument though.)

my meter dos'nt understand the concept of time, just law and order.

Forget all that, guys, I think have a more cunning plan.

How about we hold some sort of poll on the forum? Initially, I could publish the captions without crediting the author. Then, once a winner has been selected, I could reveal who wrote which caption.

Presumably there are going to a *lot* of entries to choose from and everyone will just pick their own. Is there anyway to monitor people just voting for their own entries? Alternatively, could people choose, say, three entries they like?
